IVF Abroad

Just wanted to share a little bit about my experience, in case anyone is contemplating this. DH and had been ttc since we got married almost 3 years ago. I had cancer when I was in my early 20's but according to every doctor I have seen over the years, as far as they could tell, I should not have any problems conceiving. DH was convinced that it would happen on its own, so we continued trying for two years before seeing a specialist. Turns out DH had motility and morphology issues, so we started IUI's hoping that would do the trick, as that was the only thing we were covered for. After a few failed rounds, I just had a feeling they were not going to work and we needed to do something more drastic.
After many attempts on getting in touch with someone at my RE's office to discuss IVF and cost, without any response, I was frustrated and started googling other clinics. I knew the cost would be more than we had, so I started with low cost IVF lol, somewhere along my search Barbados IVF came up and I became obsessed. I found a bunch of blogs, and vlogs of people raving about this clinic and after a week of constant research and obsessing I convinced DH that that is where we needed to go and we booked the trip for two months later. In the end it would end up costing close to what we would spend here, but there was this feeling I had inside that this was the right move.
And I was right. Even if I didn't just receive my first BFP ever!!!!I would still be singing their praises. From the moment I walked in the door, they had me in tears. I was overwhelmed with how much they really cared. Turns out my eggs weren't as good as previous doctors had assumed and they ran extra tests on me there, that were never done here.
In the end we ended up with only two early blastocysts, which according to my doctor there was not normal for my age, but better than expected for my history. They were honest and straightforward with me from the beginning and all along the way. They made sure I remained positive all along the way, and anytime I started to doubt the process they sucked me right out of that negativity. I just felt a calmness about everything, that I know I would not have felt here. They claim that is part of their success rate, being in a relaxing environment, without worrying about work or everyday nonsense. Is it true? I don't know, but I do know that I made the right decision, whatever the outcome would have been, and I will be forever grateful to the amazing woman there.

IVF Abroad

I haven't been on this board in a while, but figured I'd bump this in case anyone doesn't have IVF coverage. Really can not say enough good about this place, they are amazing. And you can save some money in the process!
