IVF Cycle Cancelled
I am new to all this. Just wondering if anyone had to cancel their first IVF cycle because they didn't respond well to the stimming meds. My dr says that he will he will get me to make lots of eggs but he needs to take a different approach and follow a different protocol. For now he wants to do an IUI since I have 3 eggs. I was so calm throughout all of this but since I didn't respond to the stimming meds I am having a bit of anxiety. TIA.

I'm sorry this cycle got cancelled.
And I know its easier said than done but please try and remain positive. Many people have had to cancel IVF cycles due to poor response and yet still went on to have happy & healthy pregnancies once they found a protocol that works for them. Like the doctor said he just needs to change the "formula" a bit. He seems to have faith in the fact that you can produce lots of eggs so hang in there.

I'm so sorry it was cancelled
Mine wasn't cancelled but I didn't respond well either so this next cycle we are also changing the protcol around and hopefully get better results.
Sometimes it's trial and error, but now your dr. knows and will work on giving you a better response if you need a next time.

I'm sorry you got cancelled But tons and tons of girls on this board have cancelled cycles that turn to IUIs, so try not to be discouraged.

Mine was too. We did an IUI as well.
Sorry it was canceled. I was bummed too.
Turned out I conceived on my own after but then miscarried and I will try again.

I'm trying for #2 and my first IVF cycle was cancelled due to poor results. I had 3 eggs which we decided was too few to go through retrieval and transfer for. We didn't do IUI b/c I have a blocked tube.
That said - we are onto another cycle. I am an optimist at heart and believe that the baby we are meant to have wasn't ready yet....

One of my cycles was cancelled (my 1st at Cornell). I had 3 eggs and we did an IUI but BFN. They changed the protocol and it worked much better (still BFN but after another cycle BFP).
Sometimes it takes a little adjusting to get the right protocol.
