IVF, ET and Bed rest
I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself. I just thought that everyone's dr. recommended bedrest after the ET.
Last week when we had the Nurse Practioner consult, I asked how long you were on bed rest after the ET and Susan (RSofNY Stonybrook) said they only say that day of the transfer. I thought it was 48 hours?
What does everyone else do? I'm probably looking at my ET being around 12/21 or 22...

Re: IVF, ET and Bed rest
I just took it easy the day of, not bed rest, just couch rest ( I also went to RSOFNY) , no lifting though for a couple of days after... Give yourself as much time as you can though, it can't hurt

Re: IVF, ET and Bed rest
I've read here many different things and I think it really depends on the RE.
My RE said to just take it easy the day of the ET then I could resume my normal schedule the following day (no sex though until after beta!). My husband was the one to put me on bedrest though! I was off my feet for a full 2 days.

Re: IVF, ET and Bed rest
I was told 2 diff. things by 2 diff. ppl. First I was told you didn't 'have' to b/c it wasn't actually proven to have any greater success rate overall if you bed rested, vs. if you didn't. Then the nurse that was in the OR the day of transfer told me to bed rest as much as I could b/c this way no matter the outcome I'd have no regrets. I took her advice...... HTH.

Re: IVF, ET and Bed rest
I just got home from my ET a few hours ago. I was told to have 48 hours of bedrest, I am lying on the couch right now. The only time I can get up was to eat or go to the bathroom.

Re: IVF, ET and Bed rest
Dawn (NP at RSNY Stonybrook) told me that I will need to go home and rest after the retrieval, but that I could go to work the day of the transfer depending up on what I do for a living. She said that if I sit at a desk, I can go to work.
I'm planning to take off the day of the retrieval and the day of the transfer. The day after the transfer I will go to work and just try to plan myself a light (sitting on my butt) day.

Re: IVF, ET and Bed rest
1st time I took 3 full days off including day of ET. I felt like it was a bit much (I was bored lol) and it ended in a BFN.
2nd time I took 2 full days off including day of ET.

Re: IVF, ET and Bed rest
I put myself on modified bedrest for a few days after transfer eventhough it was not recommended by my doctor.
