IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
....but after your ER how long did you take off from work? Do you think I'd be ok if I go back to work the next day? Also my RE asked me if I had a preference of when to do the ER? Do I have a choice? Would they give me a shot to slow the follie growth till my preferred ER day? Ideally I'd love to have it on Friday so that I have the rest of the weekend to recoop....but at the same time I dont wanna mess with Mother Nature.
And what about ET day? How long should I take off for that?
So sorry for the million questions

Re: IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
mine was on a sunday and i felt fine going back to work the next day.
i was more concerned with the ET which i really wanted to have on a friday so i could have the weekend to be on bedrest
i stayed on bedrest for 48 hours after my ET - and i mean real bedrest! i only got up to use the bathroom (and didn't shower for those 2 days). i stayed laying flat on my sides (not sitting up on the computer like the previous times) and i really just rested! i know people say that it doesn't make a difference... and it probably doesn't, but i wanted to do everything that i could so i'd have no regrets!

Re: IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
My retrieval was on a Saturday and transfer on a Tuesday. I needed more time after the retrieval to recoup since I was sooo sore, so I was glad to have Sunday to relax- back to work Monday. The transfer I just took off the day of and was back to work the next day.
ETA: I have no idea about timing of the retrieval. I wasn't given a choice...

Re: IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
I was able to tentaviely schedule my ER and it worked out. My coordinator started the Lupron a little later and than I started the stimming on Day 5 instead on Day 3 so I was able to have my ER on a Saturday (I would not have been able to take off work). Luckily I stimmed for just the right amount of time and got the Saturday ER. I would suggest trying for a Friday or Saturday cause I was a mess that day and really needed the next day to relax.
For ET, it was in the afternoon on a Thursday- I rested that whole night and I was back at work on Friday, had friends over Friday night and than relaxed the rest of the weekend.

Re: IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
What do you do, Lisa? I went to work the next day, although I have to say I was much more uncomfortable the day after the ER than the actual ER day. I actually went in to see Dr. B because I thought I was hyperstimming
But I did go to work, and returned to work, but I also sit all day...so, if I can sit at home, I can sit at work I didn't want to take too many days as I wanted to save them for maternity leave

I'm an admin assistant so I'm sitting all day. Thats my concern too....I dont wanna take off too many days because I'd like to save as many as possible for the "future"...God willing

I went back to work the day after the ER, but I sit all day too, so it wasn't a big deal.

Re: IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
I just took it easy the day of ER and had I worked out of the home, I probably would have gone back the following day....
The day after ET was a bigger concern to me ( didn't lift etc...)

Re: IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
I don't work anymore but the day after the ER I was home alone with my 3 year old (who never sits still!) and I was fine. Two days after the ER I hosted a party at my house for 15 people, I felt fine (but I only retrieved 9 eggs so that may have been a factor). The day of the ET, my DH, DS and I went to the Bethpage golf course and walked around (it was during the US Open). I felt fine just a little tired. Good luck to you Lisa, I am rooting for you!

Re: IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
Hey Darlin'! I'm an executive assistant and I could have gone to work the next day, but chose to call in sick.
I think it partially depends upon how many follies you have for them to aspirate. I had 27 and was pretty sore. I didn't push myself to go in the next day. As for the ET, mine was on a Friday, so I laid around all weekend. Not because I needed to, but because I wanted to.
You know I'm praying for you!
ETA: Not sure how your vacation or sick time works, but your pg would be spanning into next year. When does your time off get replenished?

Re: IVF girls so sorry I know this has been asked a million times before
I was able to go into work the day after the ER. I was a little crampy but okay. The day of and the day after the transfer I stayed home, on the couch or in bed, really just resting as much as I could, no cleaning, no showering, no cooking!!
