IVF Intake Appointment @ LIIVF
I have posted on the board a little while ago while I was still on the 2WW for my last IUI. Unfortunately, it did not work. DH and I had an appt with Dr. K today to discuss our next step. Due to my Endometriosis and MF issue, it was clear that IVF will be our best approach.
Since this is our first time going through IVF, we are asked to register to an “IVF Intake” appointment (I assume it is a pre-IVF consultation?). Before my anxiety kills me, can someone went through this already please give me some idea of what this meeting is all about? Also, Dr. K did not discuss any specifics to us today regarding to the IVF, but told us a nurse will discuss all the details with us. Are we going to receive all the needed information in this meeting? When do we get info about what medication to use, and when should we start?
TIA.

Re: IVF Intake Appointment @ LIIVF
DH and I just went to our orientation a few weeks ago. it was given by one of the nurses and she went thru the whole process--dealing with billing, various blood tests, meds, retrieval, transfer etc.
You'll get a folder explaining everything.
I was assigned a nurse who told me which additional blood tests to get and a calendar of what meds to take when during the cycle.
good luck!!

Re: IVF Intake Appointment @ LIIVF
If it's the orientation class it's a piece of cake. NOTHING to worry about. You and your DH go and listen to the nurse talk about the steps of IVF and what to expect, as well as what (if any) steps you need to take to make sure you're authorized thru insurance to make sure you have clearance when it comes time to start your cycle, etc.... You get a folder. It was very informative, - I think it was about 2 hours long if I remember correctly. We stayed a few mins after to ask the nurse a couple of questions, and then we were on our way.
ETA: When we went there were 2 other couples and a few women w/o their spouses.... I think 8 or so of us total.
