Well I have 2 technically but in speaking to my RE yesterday, my right ovary doesn't seem to respond. I do usually only feel o pains on my left and my last 2 ivf cycles I had 2 eggs from the right total. All of the rest are from the left. So if you only have one ovary how many eggs did you produce and what was your protocol? My RE wants me on 600 ius of gonal f for 2 days and then "down" to 450 ius for the rest of stim. It seems like a lot. Just wondering what everyone else did in my situation.
I have a similar situation in that my right ovary barley produces anything. I actually asked if we could just take it out so it wouldn't bother sucking up meds from the "good" ovary. I got a head shake for that one!! Personally, if/when we move to IVF I don't care how much meds they want to give me to get the follies going. I will be in such fear of a cancelled cycle.
If it makes you feel any better, I will be doing an injectible IUI cycle with 6-8 vials of menopur from the get go...that is 450-600 units. So to answer your question, I'll do whatever it takes to overcome the bad ovary.
not sure if I have bad ovaries but I'm on 450 of gonal F now. I will probably drop down to 375 eventually but they are really trying to get my old ovaries to cooperate.
