Jackets/Coats for Toddlers
What type of jacket/coat do you have your LO wear in his/her carseat?
DD is 18 months and I am trying to figure out what to put on her so she is warm but, also safe in her car seat. Should I just do a fleece type of jacket and then have a separate warmer jacket for outside play, etc?

That's exactly what you should do. Fleece or something thin for carseat and something heavier for when she is outside for an extended period of time.

Re: Jackets/Coats for Toddlers
yup! That's what I end up doing. I have a few fleeces or zip up hooded sweatshirts that he wears in the car seat, and then a heavier coat for if hes going outside in the snow, or if he'll be outside for awhile somewhere (when we're walking the dog or whatever). He's 3, so usually if we're just running in and out of stores, the sweatshirt or hoodie is ok for him and I don't bother putting the heavy winter coat on and off. ETA: if its really cold in the car, you can strap her in to the car seat, and then put her heavy coat on backwards, so her arms are in it, and the rest of the coat is kind of like a blanket on her.

Re: Jackets/Coats for Toddlers
I got DD a 4 in 1 jacket from Carter's. I put the fleece part on for the car ride and then the rest of it when we get out of the car.

This.
I got the Children's Place 3 in 1 - they wear the fleece most of the time but, they wear the combined jacket when they go outside to play when it's cold out (daycare takes them out if it's above 35).

DS wore a North Face Denali fleece the entire winter when he was about 18 months. However that was also the winter when it was relatively "warm" throughout. Last year he had the Carter's 4-in-1 jacket and that worked great.

I got the carter's sherpa hoodie which I'll probably use most days. I also got DD the heavyweight 4 in 1 from osh kosh for playing outside or really cold days (not using the outer piece in the carseat of course).

ITA....I always have DS is a pull over fleece for the car seat. I never keep his coat on in car. Apparently it compromises the safety aspect of the harness part...know what I mean?

Re: Jackets/Coats for Toddlers
Targets 4 in 1 jacket just like children's place but cheaper. It was great. Lasted us 2 winters. Wears the fleece. In the car then I put in the outer layer as I take her out of the seat

We did similar. Sherpa hoodie for most days, and the 3-in-1 Children's Place jacket. Using the fleece part of the jacket when it's not too cold, because it's not that warm, and the sherpa when it's colder.

You can do that or I just got a Gap jacket made with material that keeps them super warm but isnt puffy. Its really cute too and I got it with a coupon so it was crazy cheap. And I wont have to take it off to put her in the car seat. Shes 16 months.
