DS was born last December. We never put a winter coat on him. Honestly the bundle me is so warm he would be sweaty sometiems when I took him out.
Sometimes if it was really cold I would do a light sweater and hat but thats all.

Re: Spinoff to winter coats - Bundle me & winter jackets
My first son was born in Nov. and he never wore a winter jacket. Just the bundle me. I will do the same with my 2nd son born in July.

Re: Spinoff to winter coats - Bundle me & winter jackets
We used the bundle me but we also used a bunting (or a snowsuit). The bundle me was good if we were just going in and out of the car but, if we were using the stoller or if we were outside for more than a few min. I preferred the bunting or the snowsuit. Also, I heard some not so great things about the bundle me from the guy who inspected my car seat so for long trips we didn't use it. Hope this helps!

You do not need a winter coat with the bundle me. Furthermore, you should not put DC in a carseat with a winter coat, the straps do not go tight enough and they can be ejected from the seat if god forbid you are in a crash.

Re: Spinoff to winter coats - Bundle me & winter jackets
The other morning I woke up and it was freezing out. So I put the bundle me on. Put DS in long pants and a long sleeved onesie.
Poor kid was sweating in there!
No heavy winter jacket for him for sure!

With the bundleme there is no need for a heavy jacket. Just a sweater with a shirt underneath.

Re: Spinoff to winter coats - Bundle me & winter jackets
DD was born in early December 2007. We used the Bundle Me for the entire winter. No coat, no light jacket, and no sweater (unless it matched the outfit she had on). Thinking to this coming winter, I am very disappointed not to have one of those in her carseat, especially since ALL the carseat manufacturers tell you not to put on a heavy winter coat and then put car seat straps over it. I *think* DH & I will be carrying her in and out of the house in a blanket with a hat.

I think they make one for the converitble seat too.

Re: Spinoff to winter coats - Bundle me & winter jackets
As long as you can keep DC in the infant car seat....I see no reason for a winter coat. DD was born in November and all I used was the bundle me.
