Jackson Body En Route to Cemetery
Michael Jackson's body was just carried out of The Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn Cemetery. He will be transported to the Staples Center for his public memorial.
There are various news reports that Michael Jackson's body is not in the casket -- absolutely not true.
Our sources -- who know -- say 100% Jackson's body is in the coffin that is being taken to Staples Center.

Why is having a public memorial for someone as big of an icon as Michael Jackson a circus? Because his body was brought to the memorial? Isn't that usually what a memorial is? I don't think it's a circus at all. I think the entire memorial is a fitting tribute. If you don't like the coverage, don't view it online or off. If people weren't watching, they wouldn't be airing.

i agree.
I think it's sad b/c he lived his life in a way to make me think he would NEVER have wanted this attention and hoopla.
I CANNOT STAND his family. they RUINED him...starting with his PIG father.
he outshined ALL of them, and now they are STILL, in DEATH riding on his poor coat tails.
so while I think yes, he should be memorialized for his talen and what he meant to so many...I think those that REALLY loved him would have done it with his personality and wishes in mind.
what is DISGUSTING is that this poor man's body has been laying cold for almost TWO WEEKS without a proper funeral/burial. for the family to have allowed that to happen...for him to be in a state of physical pergatory...is reprehensible to me.

It's about giving his fans a chance to say goodbye, and I think we can all agree that he aboslutely, without a doubt, loved his fans.

I disagree. MJ lives a private life, but loved his fans. He loved performing for them. I think he would be humbled by the outpouring of love shown by his fans all around the world, and how many wanted to show their final respects by attending his memorial.
I do not think his family waited in order to profit, they wanted to figure out the best way to honor him both publicly and privately. As of right now, his estate is controlled by lawyers, his mother was denied control, so they are not getting anything out of his death. Do you not think his mother is not mouring the death of her son, or his brothers and sisters mourning the death of their brother.
I do think Joe Jackson is despicable, but I don't believe that of the rest of the family.

I totally agree!!! Michael was an icon regardless of what negative attention he received during his life. I am watching and memoring with the rest of the world!!! Like him or not he changed the world!!! He deserves all the attention he is getting!!!

I won't speculate as to how they mourn, but I will say there is a reason none of his immediate family was part of his inner circle. I won't speculate on that reason either, but it's not like they had Sunday supper together each week either.
and quite honestly, it doesn't matter how the rest of the family feels...Joe Jackson is the patriarch of that family...and I think only janet would have the balls to cross him. and she's been the most silent. if I see Jermaine Jackson again I am going to barf.

I meant a media circus. Notice how since MJ died - no more talk of swine flu! Shocker. When this dies down, swine flu will be back, or whatever else they use to get ratings.
I have no use for the media and their endless exploitation of everything from divorce to sickness to death.
And for the record- you bet your azz I'm not watching any of it. I just happened to click on this thread.
Unless it's a member of my family or a friend of mine- I have no desire to be involved in a funeral.

His own children are up there singing celebrating their father. I dont think anyone forced them to get up there.

I was JUST going to comment on this Leslie. I am touched how Paris is smiling and singing.
The more I hear about him and his children after is death the LESS I think he did any of the things he was accused of.
I think he was truly loved my the people who knew him best and by fans all over the world. I think he was a man who was severely misunderstood.
