Where it all began....

Jaidyn Elizabeth's Birth Story..
We got to the hospital at 8:00am for my scheduled c-section, and of course were immediately bumped from my 9:30 induction. Not once but twice. It was okay because they let my Sister and Stepmother in the room with us so we were joking around and watching TV which kept me from getting nervous. I did have a problem with my blood sugar dropping too low. I kept having to take glucose tablets and I wasn't supposed to eat anything after midnight but thankfully it didn't stop the birth and they gave me a IV w/glucose to keep my sugars up.
Finally by 11 they tell me that we are next. They get me up and have my walk to the operating room. They have me do the oh so comfortable bend like a letter C so that they can give me a spinal. When I had Damien they had to stick my like 10 times to get in my epidural in so I was prepared fro the worst and I was not disappointed They had to give me the spinal 9 times It was so painful I was crying by the time it was finally done. My OBGYN was so good she held my hands the entire time and was talking me through it. They had me quickly lay down and wait for the spinal to kick in. But guess what it didn't I was able to wiggle my toes and could feel pain when the poked me to check and see if it was working. They upped the meds and it still didn't work. I heard the anesthesiologist say we may have to put her out I started to get scared and then the anesthesiologist explained to me the spinal wasn't working and we would have to give me general anesthesia  I asked if Steve would be there and they said he couldn't, I asked if I could at least talk to him so he knows I am okay. They said a nurse was going to explain everything to him as they put the mask on my face had my breathe deep and I was out. I felt like I closed my eyes for a second and when i opened them they told me I had a baby girl  They told me she was perfect and that she was with Steve. I asked how much she weighed and they told me she is a peanut. 6lbs 8ozs 18 1/2 inches. They then brought me to recovery and I saw Steve and he told me how beautiful she was and that she had a full head of dark hair.
While I was in there another woman was brought in and it was her first baby and her DH was so cute he was so excited and kept telling her that the baby had his eyebrows
When I was finally wheeled out of recovery I saw my Dad and my sister and Stepmother at the nursery window and my nurse said I am going to wheel you to the window. This is when i saw my daughter for the first time, she was so beautiful. I was so sad that I couldn't touch her The nurse said they had to test her blood sugars before they could bring her to me. It still bums me out that both my Sister and Stepmother held her before I had even seen her.
They finally brought her to me and I was just so in love with her. She latched on right away and is still going strong with breastfeeding and has gained 4ozs. (She went down to 6lbs 1oz in the hospital and yesterday was 6lbs 12ozs) We are doing great and today is our first day alone. Steve went back to work and Damien is at school.
I can't wait for all of you to have your babies. There really is just nothing that can compare to it
