James Gandolfini's Generous Gift
Actor leaves $50,000 to friend's child with autism
Actor James Gandolfini left $50,000 in his will to his college friend Doug Katz, who has a 12 year old son with autism. According to Saturday' edition of the New York Post, Katz learned of the gift in a phone call from Gandolfini's widow Deborah Lin.
Gandolfini and Katz were college roommates and Katz said the benevolent actor was always extremely generous with his son Andrew.
"He bought him nutritional supplements, anything Andrew needed to help him live a better life. Jim also sponsored gymnastics for my son."
Gandolfini, the longtime star of the HBO hit The Sopranos, died of a heart attack while vacationing in Rome on June 19th.
"He always said to me how can we help, what can we do to make Andrew's life better," Katz said," and none of it was lip service. He's my son's guardian angel."

 that is just the sweetest thing. I always loved james gandolfini...just always seemed like a down to earth sincere guy. Such a shame that such a good man had to pass too soon. What a wonderful thing he did for that family.
