January 18th. Years in review.
January 18, 2010: My consult with Dr.Braverman. I remember sitting hopeful in his office asking a question I asked him about 100 times since then "So, do you think this is gonna work?" ... Little did either of us know, my journey was going to be much longer than anticipated.
January 18, 2011: The due date of my first baby. We lost him at 17wks. On this day, it was raining and I went to work even though I was planning on staying home so I could spend the day crying. I tried to make it a normal day, but the sky cried with me. I was in the middle of a 2ww hoping it was sign. A week later, I had a chemical.
January 18, 2012: For a multitude of reasons, we decided to go for surrogacy. On this day, my dh and I started filling out the paper work for the agency Dr.B recommended. It was a long couple of years.... I just wanted someone to take my problems away and give me a baby. I felt hopelessly hopeful, or hopefully hopeless.. or something like that.
January 18, 2013: Ok, well technically its after midnight so it's the 18th, but earlier today on the 17th, we saw our baby. I'm pregnant and he's doing well. Is this for real? My dh touched my stomach tonight and said this just feels right. It's been a long 3 years. Oh baby look at us now 
I think I always update around this date because clearly to me, it has a lot of meaning. It just goes to show from one year to the next you just never know what kinds of grapes life will throw at you (sour, sweet, or otherwise) ... but when you grab hold of the sweet ones you realize just how lucky you really are.

So many prayers, good vibes, positive juju and everything great and good for you and that perfect baby you are carrying. You are a beacon of hope and light and positivity on the boards, an inspiration to so many. Take care of yourself and know that you have soooooo many people pulling for you and willing Baby J to grown big and strong. I am so happy for you.

You have been through so much over the years, Jackie. I just know that this is the end of your IF journey at that you will be bringing home a bouncing baby boy this summer! I'm so excited for us to be pregnant together again... Lots of hugs and prayers for you!!

When my first due date approached for the first time, I didn't realize it was going to ALWAYS be this significant date... but still every time January 18th rolls around, I remember how much hope and sadness surrounded this day in 2011. I will still never understand why I lost him, but hoping that this summer will bring that loss and my many others some meaning.

When I read that your DH touched your belly and said this time feels right it brought tears to my eyes...I also have high hopes for you both this time and completely agree with him. I know we're all taking it one day at a time but it's nice to watch a glimmer of hope spark up into a flame.
