Does anyone have a recommendation for a place on LI?
not at anywhere near the top point price- the cheapest I ever paid on LI was $500
and it didn't come out any where near as good
I don't feel like trekking to Flushing to sit there ALL day... I called one place on LI and it was $500, so bummed...

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening Official Thread
My salon used this.... Farmesi SILIS Satin effect
A silicone-based cream able to transform naturally curly hair or permed hair into straight, manageable and incredibly shiny hair. Silis is a lightly papaya scented protective and strengthening straightening cream holding hair in the right position during processing thanks to its particularly thick consistency. Cream: 100 ml tube. Setting lotion: 100 ml flacon.

Why don't you wanna go to Flushing? If the price is right and all the girls who have gone to Top Point have had good results on here wouldn't it be worth the trip? JMO

If you're going to sit somewhere ALL DAY - it might as well be $300 less, no?
I'm going in a few weeks. I'm assuming if I take the day off when it's not busy, I won't have to wait.

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening Official Thread
Has anyone with layered hair done this? I have long layers, that I dont really like and when my hair gets frizzy and curly it looks worse with these layers. I am considering JS, so I dont have to spend 30 min with the blow dryer and iron, but it seems most girls have long one lengh hair...........

Whole head was done 10 months ago and the root tough up about 3 months ago.

My hair is in layers, but after I got the JS done, I had it cut to one layer, and angeled in the front...a few months later when the volume picked up, I had my layers done again, and it looks fine

The thing is, it wasn't that I was waiting for them - the 5 hours it took was basically just the process (I was there on a Saturday and it was crowded, but they seem to have it down to a science.). It took a while to paint the chemicals on then that had to sit. Then the actual straightening with the iron was seriously about two hours. Then chemicals again. They did from time to time walk off to take care of something else, but even if they hadn't and I had been the only person there, I would expect it would have still taken a good 4+ hours for me.

My hair is layered also! It is hard to tell in the pictures. The shortest layer is up to my shoulders. I don't like the layers as much now that my hair is straight, so I was thinking about getting it cut all one length. I will try to find a better pic to show you with the layers.

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening Official Thread
Ok, I am considering doing this as well. From picture you can see the curly, wavy & frizzy hair that I deal with. You cant really see it I guess. I dont love it or hate it and use this style out of convenience. I also have some layers and even when i blow my hair out straight, there isnt much of a style..I flat iron it out straight.
My sister gets her hair done local, In Plainview and they charge $250 (for the ladies who dont want to go to Queens). I will get the name for you ladies. Im a little scared to do this. I also have highlights so I dont want to cause any damage.
So talk me into or dont

I dont know what to tell you....because if I had your hair, Id wear it curly sometimes and straight other times....
I LOVE curly hair but I hated my curly hair. this was my hair but longer
Now after JS, I wear it straight sometimes, but usually with some curls with a curling iron usually like this
