JCPenny Shipping Charges
I really like this dining table and chairs from JCPenny and I think its a great price however it must be ordered from JCP.com because they dont carry it in the stores.
Link
My questions is how can I find out what the shipping charges will be?
It says total delivery charges will be reflected at checkout but when I went through the checkout process, right up until the point you put in your cc info it still says shipping $ - TBD. I dont want to put in my credit card info before I know what they are going to charge me to ship. Has anyone purchased furniture and had it shipped from JCP.com? Any ideas on what it might cost me to ship? Or if ordering it from the store and picking it up there is even a possibility? That's kind of a deal breaker for me. TIA!!!

Re: JCPenny Shipping Charges
I was going to order a day bed and trundle from them and it had to be delivered from the manufacturer.
they use a shipping service and the shipping costs were OUT OF CONTROL. almost as much and the damned bed.
I am still bedless, but if overstock charges $2.95...I cannot see myself paying hundreds of dollars in shipping.
especially for AT BEST medium quality furniture.

Ugh! This is what I figured. Im going to call them just in case but something told me it was too good to be true. I cant really find this type of table and chairs anywhere else without paying $$$ for it.
Thanks!

Re: JCPenny Shipping Charges
I was just looking at my emails & I have one from there stating that there is free shipping on orders over $69 on select home items. Here is the code - WHITEWC. I hope it works.

Re: JCPenny Shipping Charges
Yeah so I just called and they said due to the size of furniture, it must be shipped to a home address....$216 for that
The two side chairs I would want to add CAN be shipped to the store for free delivery with the promo code.
Is that outrageous?

Re: JCPenny Shipping Charges
I own that set and I love it. It looks much more expensive than it actually was and has held up really well and we use it daily in our kitchen!
When I ordered it though (about 2 years ago), all 6 chairs were included.
I can't believe the shipping is over $200! I just ordered two leather sofas from JCP and the shipping was $200. That table and chairs should NOT be as much to ship as TWO sofas in my opinion. It is strange that they are allowing you to ship to the store for some items but not others.
ETA: Does shipping the two armchairs to the store reduce the shipping cost at all?
Also, you may want to keep checking JCP's site to see if they ever throw in the armchairs for free. Their prices / deals fluctuate OFTEN. The 2 sofas I ordered were only $688 each, and the next week they were up to $999 and now they are priced at $899. I saw a review on that table from December that someone had gotten the armchairs included, so it might be worth waiting to see if they do that deal again. Good luck!!!

Im so glad to hear you love it. Its really the first set I have seen in my price range that I love!
The $216 is for shipping only the table and 4 chairs. They explained that the set was too big to ship to the store but they would be willing to ship the additional armchairs to the store free of charge since they are smaller.
I actually have no choice but to wait 3 weeks to buy all of it anyways. I am closing on my house at the end of this month and we have been advised not to make any large purchases until after closing. Although Im not sure if that's what they mean by large. Im clueless to all of this.
Hopefully a better deal comes up between now and then but if not, I think I like it too much to not pay the shipping. Im such a sucker
Thank you for your help!!!

I am so happy to hear that you love this piece and that it has held up well. I have been keeping my eye on it for a while now. I think even with the shipping, I may go for it because it is still sooooo much cheaper than the same looking set at Pottery Barn!!!
