Jeep Commander or Cherokee
Does anyone have either? I been looking at cars and and leaning towards these 2. Just curious on if you have any positive or negative things about either?
Thanks!

Just got an 05 Gran Cherokee and LOVE it!!! Never was in a Commander so I can't compare. Go test drive them both and see which you like better. I noticed they have some great incentives on them right now!

I have an '06 Grand Cherokee Laredo and love it!
I went to the dealer not too long ago and test drove the new Liberty... it drove great and is so cute. I'm going to look into it more when my lease is up next year.

Re: Jeep Commander or Cherokee
I don't have either, but was looking at the both of them when I was looking - I felt that the seats were more comfortable in the backseat in the Cherokee.
And I am not sure if you are tall or not - but my DH is 6'4 1/2" and it was tight in the Commander

Re: Jeep Commander or Cherokee
We have an 05 Cherokee Hemi.
Pros: -handles beautifully in all kinds of weather -Hemi gives it some great pickup (probably more than most need for day to day driving)
Cons: -backseat is very small and not ideal for passengers, especially if you're driving any kind of distance -handsfree/bluetooth never works. We've brought it in numerous times to be repaired, it works for a week, then just stops working. We've given up on it. -gas mileage bites, partially because we had a Hemi. I think we averaged 12-13mpg. -"low fuel" warning isn't very good. It drops very quickly and it's easy to miss the warning light/sound.

Re: Jeep Commander or Cherokee
We have an 06 Commander V8 and love it.
Drives nice and smooth and the pick up is great.
The back seats are comfy - they recline. - Nice for long road trips.
I love how roomy it is...there is a decent amount of space on the side of you as well as on top - in other words it doesn't feel like the roof of the car is RIGHT there...
We rarely use the 3rd row - but its great to have.
Cons: The 3rd row when we do use it - is more comfortable for a child. I wouldn't recommend an adult sit there for a long road trip.
Gas - not so bad when you drive locallly...about $45-$50 to fill up - last almost a week...road trip is another story...
We are happy with it...our lease is up next January and we're more than likely getting another Commander

Re: Jeep Commander or Cherokee
i used to work for jeep.. hence i drive a liberty! but i think any jeep is a good choice to be honest! i dont think id ever drive anything else!
cherokee i think has more trunk space which is the one and only thing i hate about my liberty! My only thing i would recommend is if you get heated seats make sure it doesnt have a recall on it! Some of the older ones.. i wanna say 06's had recalls and we actually had a few that set fire (not to scare you just something to be aware of)
Good luck!!

I agree with this... it doesn't "warn" you till it's almost too late! When the light goes on I only have 12 or 15 miles of gas left. But, i've just learned to keep an eye on it when I drive long distances.

Re: Jeep Commander or Cherokee
Have an '05 Grand Cherokee & can't wait to give it back next year. I mean, I'm happy to have a newer car, but I don't like the way it handles. It's very sluggish when I accelerate during a turn- ie: hesitation (had it checked out @ Jeep & they keep telling me "it's fine"). The trunk is bigger than my old Liberty but there isn't really good enough room to have a stroller in there & do large grocery shopping w/o things spilling out (plus it's a pain to fit my massage table & stroller in the trunk too- no added space for anything else really). I also feel like my head hits the top a lot when I sit down (I'm NOT tall ). So all in all..it's certainly not terrible, but I won't be getting another one. Good luck whatever you decide!
