If you mean Boces Readiness in Bellmore on jerusalem Avenue, my nieces goes there. My sister is so happy with the school. I have also been there a few times and the school is amazing. The teachers are so good with the kids and in the 2 years my niece has gone there, she has made such progress.

Michelle, BOCES houses two schools... the one Em & AJ go to, which is BOCES CRC and then there is Jerusalem Ave Elemetary upstairs...

totally two different programs, 2 school (housed in one building) two different principals, etc.

with that said...

CRC is a pre-school/elementary program.. they have mostly spectrum children who attend, but other LDs as well.

Jerusalem Ave (upstairs) is more for the behaviorally challenged students, some may be on the spectrum, but the majority arent.

Both schools are amazing. My friends son who is in 1st grade goes upstairs. They have done an amazing job. The school was the perfect fit for him.

CRC is where my son goes to and it is incredible.

Every school has its negatives...

FM me if you would like more specific.

Re: Jerusalem Avenue school (nassau boces)

We went to the Readiness Center. DH really liked the school.

We opted out because they did not have individual pull outs for services like speech/OT/PT. It was a group model in the classroom. DS needed that one on one. We also needed a VERY STRONG ABA program. DS has classic autism.

This is a good school. Of course, every school has it's negative but overall it's a good school.

If anyone still has any questions about this school, or should I say program, please contact me. While I have had some very good experiences with other BOCES programs, you need to be VERY careful when enrolling your child in this school for many reasons.
I don't want to type out information that nobody is interested, so like I said, feel free to contact me or even post back that you are interested and I will share mine & some friends experiences.
I will say one thing if anyone comes across this post late as I did, Jerusalem Avenue School is not an academically based program...so while some needs of your child might be addressed, be aware that they will be done at the expense of their academics....which is a recipe for disaster.
