Re: jewish ladies
The yiddish for grandfather is Zayde, so people often call their grandparents Bubbe and Zayde or in Hebrew, Saba and Safta

I Beg To Differ. :-P
Anyway, I called my Dad's parents Grandma Chani (passed when I was 4) and Papa Hy (passed before my parents were married), and my Mom's parents Grandma and Grandpa (seeing as they were the only ones I had for most of my life). My aunt (Dad's sister) once referred to my Grandma Chani as Bubbe and Dad THREW A FIT - there is only ONE Bubbe and that was Grandma Chani's mother, and there is NO arguing with him. LOL.
Our kids will call my parents Grammy and Dadu (they've already requested these names, and I figure it won't be a problem with ILs). As for the ILs, I don't know what we'll use for them, I suppose it's up to them, but Bubbe's off limits as long as my Dad's around!

Re: jewish ladies
I called my them "grandma". Both my grandfathers passed before I was born...so I didn't have any to call anything.
For my parents...they will be called "grandma and papa" because that's what my brother and SIL are using. I would think it would be weird if they had different names for different grandkids...so we will use them by default. Same for the IL's...they go by grandma or grammy and pop.

Re: jewish ladies
Both DH and I call (or in my case, called) them all grandma and grandpa. My parents are already grandparents and my dad is papa and my mom is grandma. I am OK with calling them all anything. My ILs are more the Bubbe and Zayde type though since they are a bit older. I think no matter how you stear the kids, they will call them what they want. My mom and my sisters MIL were both gaga for a while with both my nephews. My mom HATED it at first but then it made her special. Now she is just grandma. See, you always get what you ask for!!

Re: jewish ladies
My dad's parents were "bubby" and zaide and my mom's parents were "nanny" and "grandpa".
ETA: I really want my mom to be "bubby" and my DH's parents will be safta and sabba (since they live in Israel and are sephardic). But I think mom also wants to be Safta- so we'll see.
