Re: jewish moms (the holidays)
Cailen is almost 2.5 - I seriously don't think he would be capable of lasting 5 minutes at temple (we don't go) - even at my gma's funeral in July, it was the BEST he was ever behaved, and I think it was 10 minutes with DH on his lap.... Plan on taking turns walking around with him. I went to shul every shabbos - there were always a group of moms watching their toddlers in the hallways!

ya we took turns last year but now with my 5 month old who is teething and cries hysterically i'm thinking he'll be spending most of the time in the halls. if we have both in the halls then my dh and i spend zero time actually in temple and what's the point of going. and these seats are a small fortune. i'm going to have to pack a serious bag of tricks to keep him entertained!

Re: jewish moms (the holidays)
Last year DS was 13 months old and he slept in his carriage for the entire service (3+ hours in one stretch) he wore chinos, a button down shirt and a sweater vest - different ones for each day but the same basic outfits.
This year he has chinos, a button down shirt, and a navy blue blazer for one day and for the second day he has herringbone trousers, a button down shirt and a black cord blazer. With that said, I am 35 almost 36 weeks pregnant so we are only going to go to temple one of the days on LI as it will just be way to much for me to do both days at 38 weeks PG. My repeat c/s is scheduled for the day after yom kippur so we are not coming to LI for that as I will be 39 weeks.
ETA: That my entire family will be at services and will rotate who goes outside when DS needs to run in the halls. I don't expect him to sit still for more than 5-10 minute stretches every 30 minutes. It is just not realistic.

Re: jewish moms (the holidays)
I'm going to find out the age range for the children's service at my in-law's temple and whether I need a seperate ticket for that. I'm not planning to take him into the regular services. I don't think I would dress him up a lot for it. I guess I would just not have him wear jeans or sneakers.
