JHS (Japenese Hair Straightening)
I'm looking for all Pros and Cons on it. How much does it cost and last? Is it worth it?
I have medium length curly hair and I can't fuss with it b/c I have 2 little babies. I ALWAYS wear it up b/c I hate it!!! I am looking into getting the JHS but I want more details!
I am also looking for referrals too.
THANKS!!!

Re: JHS (Japenese Hair Straightening)
Place I went to charges $160 for long hair, not sure how much for short.
The pro's are obvious...silky straight frizz free hair with no effort.
The cons are that your hair will not be able to hold a curl anymore (which is currently annoying me being that I have my brothers wedding in two weeks) and it tends to make your hair look flat the first few weeks.

i go to Harvey's Place in Cedahurst. she used to charge me $550, but gave me a deal this time...$350 but not sure how many people she will give that deal to. Yes, it's very expensive, but worth it! She is very anal with your hair and makes sure that it is 100% before you leave the place.
i actually just went on Sunday with KRWM...she can tell you about it too. For some reason, the first part of the process didn't take in my hair so i was there for a really really long time. Like 8 1/2 hours long. but Krwm was there for like 5 hours or so.
i have medium length very curly frizzy hair. to me, the only con is the money and the time spent in the hair salon. the pro's...i can go on forever about. you literally walk out of the shower and your hair will dry pin straight. you can dry your hair with just your hands and a hair dryer. it lasts for about 6 months and is 100% worth every bit of the money.

Re: JHS (Japenese Hair Straightening)
I got it done for the same reasons as you. I have 3 kids and to blow it out for 1/2 hour only to hate how it looks made me go for JHS. I did it last June and was the only woman at a very hot outdoor July wedding who wasn't putting their hair back bc it frizzed or flopped. I'll go so far as to say it was life changing when it came to my outlook on my hair. It makes your hair very very straight. You can get some bend in it to give some more body but it will generally be very straight. The only thing I didn't like about it was having my bangs straightened. They were too straight but being bangs, were too short to use a big brush to put body in them. If it got wet, the ends of the bangs were super straight again which I didn't like. I'm in dire need of going again and am going to see if they can omit the bangs this time. I used Top Point in Flushing and it came out beautiful. It was a little over $200, $230 maybe (hair is about 6 inches below my shoulders) I've heard Brazilian straightening doesn't make your hair super straight but leaves more body in it but the same person told me that people always have to style their hair with JHS, which I found to be totally not true. 99% of the time I did nothing but comb it after showering. HTH - but the PP is right, there is a huge thread devoted to the subject on here. Do a search and you'll see all kinds of feedback.

did you try? my hair has always held a curl
I even had it curled for my wedding
no cons for me- I have been doing it for 6 years and I Love it- it changed my life
my hair used to control me- and now I control it
I pay about $160-$200- $160 for just the roots (which I do every 6 months)
and $200 if I wanted to wait a year
but I see no point in letting it grow in that long and then having to actually blow it dry
I walk out of the house with wet hair and it dried perfect
it's a dream come true for me!

I got it done yesterday for the third time. It makes life SOOOOOOOOO much easier if your hair is difficult!
I paid 160.

I just wrote a whole response that didn't post, but the jist was I have only one con and it was the cost, but I'd pay it again in a heartbeat for what I got.

I tried for my friends wedding, the curl turned straight in less than 20 min, maybe I'll give it a shot again
