JJ Cole Bundle Me Toddler - BTDT mommies I have a ?
I am really interested in having something like this for Kristina, but I have a question.
If I want to use this, do I have to leave the bottom part of it in the car, or is it very easy to put in so that I can put her in the bundle me in the house and then bring her out to the car?
If you have to bring them out to the car w/the bottom half of the bundle me already installed in the car seat, what do you dress them in when you are running from (wherever you are) to car, and car to wherever you are going?

I think most people who use it, keep the infant carrier in the house and so they put the baby in the carrier and then zip up the bundle me and go to the car. If you leave your infant seat in the car, then I am not sure of how good this would be for you. It is supposed to take the place of a winter coat (I just put on a zip up hoodie and a hat.)

oh, okay. Are you thinking of the toddler bundle me for the carseat?
I guess a lot depends on where you car is? In the garage? In the driveway? In the street?
Sabrina outgrew the infant seat quickly too so we only got her first winter with the bundle me. Last year I got her a winter coat. I did the same this year. The straps on the Britax are easy enough to adjust.

Yeah, I'm sorry to confuse you! I totally meant the toddler.
I have winter coats for her as well as 1 bunting, but I know that it's recommended for safety reasons not to even have the jackets on... that's another reason why I'm thinking about the Bundle Me.
My car is in the street right in front of the house, but I'm concerned about when I go to the market, to the store, etc.
KWIM?
How do you keep DC from getting cold when they are out of the bundle me? Do you then put a jacket on them when you are taking them out of the car?

If she's in the britax carseat already then I would not get a bundle me, just put her in a warm winter coat, it would be such a PITA to be putting her coat on and off everytime she got in and out of the car.

See that's what I was thinking too Mellissa.... It's gotta be a PITA right?
I wish they would sell 2 bottom pieces for it.... one for transport, and one to just stay in the car! That would take all the guesswork out of it!!!!!!!!

I wanted to get him a bundle me, but I knew he wouldn't be in his carseat much longer.....
I gave the infant seat up when Kristina hit 16 lbs.... with 10lbs for the seat itself... I wimped out!

I do not use the bundle me in the carseat. I am not sure it is intended for the carseat in term of safety.
I used a bunting outfit for DS last winter. This year will be a bit easier since he is 16 months so I can dress him in toddler clothes, shoes, etc...

Its really tough - I did use the bundle me last year in the infant seat but in the spring I went to mingling moms and Chris the safety guy came and talked to the group. He said that the bundle me's are great but that they shouldn't be used in car seats as they void the warranty (car seats say not to place anything into the seat). He said that they are a safety hazard. Then again he also said to not put them in the car with a heavy coat either b.c like the bundle me they compress in an accident and the child can fly out of the seat. He recommended heavy blankets. I don't think that will work for DD so I don't know what I'm doing this year.

OK, I see what you all are saying.
But now here's another question.
If you put your DC in a jacket into the carseat, and use the Bundle Me in the stroller... is the Bundle Me warranted? I mean, you aren't going to be doing walks outside (at least I'm not - I HATE the cold).... they are just quick steps from the car to the store or the mall or the house...
Wouldn't the jacket or the bunting be enough?
I totally and completely DESPISE winter....

I used mine in the stroller for walks - but I took them when it was 40 or warmer. I think it kept her toasty esp if there was a wind.
