John Edwards Campaign Blogger

A story in today's NYT discusses criticism that John Edwards has received re: a "blogger" that he hired for his presidential bid. This woman has made very anti-Catholic remarks in her blog. (The article does not expand upon her statements...but another website included them and they were very offensive.) This criticism, however, has not caused Edwards to fire her (at least, not yet.)

I can't help thinking that if this blogger made such offensive statements against other groups, there would be a huge outcry against her and she would be immediately fired.

Do you think there is a media double standard and that anti-Catholic or anti-Christian bias is somehow acceptable??

I know a lot of people who hold this view, but no, I don't think it's true.
