I used him 7 years ago  I am so so sad to hear that he passed away. He was the best vendor I dealt with for my wedding and his work was absolutely AMAZING!
I don't usually get to post often, but a friend of mine told me the news and I had to pop on to share my condolences. I am so sad...
My thoughts and prayers are with his family...

I also used John for my flowers 4 years ago, and always rave about him and how beautiful he made my day....
I am so sorry to his family for their loss... He was truly one of a kind...

Wow this is a huge shock...John personally worked on my wedding and he was just simply amazing.
All our thoughts and prayers go out to his family over the loss of an amazing and creative man.

I cannot recall the last time I visited or posted on this board but just felt like it today. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. John was also my absolute favorite vendor from 7 years ago when I got married. He was so passionate and so talented, it was a privilege to be around him. Such a loss. My condolences to his family.

This is so shocking and beyond sad - I literally gasped. I met John several times at bridal shows and various events. I used the florist that my hall owned for my wedding since my hall owned it we were able to get what we needed within our very tight budget but John was always by second choice and that I wished I could have worked with him because he was so talented and beyond sweet - just the sweetest man and so passionate about what he did. Even after my wedding, I still always would recommend people to him because of how beautiful his work was and not only the flowers - but what a pleasure it was to work with him. I always admired him for his easygoing and upbeat personality and his talent/work so much.
My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, child, and extended family at this very sad time.

I am so heart broken and in tears from this news. This absolutely breaks my heart. John was the main reason why I got into this business and I too used him for many clients. I am literally speechless. Thank you Chrissy for keeping us in the know

I also worked with John during my wedding. He was amazing,...his spirit was truly wonderful. He will be missed.

I am at a loss for words. I knew John (and Lauren) from day one when they took over the shop in huntington and then was honored to work with him for my wedding 7 years ago. So many memories are flooding back, but like so many others have mentioned - mostly his exuberance, love and passion for life. The last time I saw him he was gushing over Hope. John will always be remembered, loved and admired.

What horrible news. He did my daughter's wedding four years ago, and was an absolutely wonderful person. His work was phenomenal. My heart goes out to his family.

omg i am so completely devastated. he was my absolute favorite vendor to deal with and he even showed up to my house on my wedding day - i was so happy.

He did my flowers six years ago and I still remember how he didn't laugh at my ideas and instead helped me fulfill them. I can't believe he is gone. Thoughts and prayers go to his family!

Absolutely heartbreaking
John was such a wonderful person...amazingly talented individual who had a gift for what he did.
He was such a special part of my wedding...I'll never forget seeing him drive up to my house with the flowers in his yellow "race car"  He was so proud to show me the beautiful burgundy calla lilies...which no one else could guarantee for me. The were perfect...just like him and his work.
Such a tremendous loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I don't even know what to say.
I knew John before he became John of Flower Michele. He and his wife Lauren are such amazing people & friends.
When I first met John in 1997 he was on medical leave from his job as Manager @ car repair place. He'd been diagnosed with a heart condition called Dilated Cardio Myopathy. At that time, the Dr.'s told him he would only have a few years to live, if he didn't find a heart donor.
John felt that if he only had a short time to live, he wanted to do what he always wanted to do. He and his wife took everything they had and bought Flower Michele, an existing flower shop in Huntington. They also adopted their daugther at this time, and named her Hope.
It goes to show you that, if you do something you love and are passionate about what you do, you health will reflect that. Here we are 16 years after his diagnosis.
The world lost a living angel on Tuesday.
I will miss you my dear friend.

I could have written this word for word. I too am a 2003 bride from LIW and I literally gasped out loud reading this. So incredibly heart breaking =*( Such a passionate, loving, caring man! My wedding had a piece of amazing b/c of him!
