joining a mommy group?
so i joined a mommy group on meetup.com and after being accepted and reading the profiles on the moms who belong, I saw their is only one person with a child my DS's age. Most of the group members have young children. I really wanted a playgroup with a variety of ages, but def geared more toward my sons age. Is it rude of me to ask to be "let go"?

I don't think you have to be "let go." A lot of times with those groups if you haven't been active in awhile they will deactivate your participation in the group. You may also be also just to get out of it by looking at your accound.
Was there a fee?

Re: joining a mommy group?
my friend joined it to meet friends I think they limit the amount of spots right for active members only, can you write the leader and explain like you did to us. i think its fine to let go

Re: joining a mommy group?
Thanks ladies! I did email the leader and she said she would hate for me to go and gave me a list of who has kids close to my son's age. I told her I would stay around and see how it goes. Also are you a member of more then one mommy group? I am thinking of joining another, this way I can see if it is more what I am looking for

i am part of two mommy groups, but more active in one then the other. some are the kids are close to dd's age, but some are older or younger. i feel it's good for my dd to get along with all different age groups.

Re: joining a mommy group?
I belong to 2 mommy groups. One for moms who work and want activities on the weekends, and 2 other groups. The other 2 do a lot of activities during the week but do have ones on the weekend every once in a while.
I had joined another group and asked to leave because they didn't do any activities on the weekend and I work FT. The leader had no problem with me leaving and told me I was welcome back at any time.
