Joint birthday party for my daughter and her preschool buddy
So my daughter and her good friend are in the same preschool class and have birthdays in the same week. Her mom and I discussed having a party together in the weekend in between since our guest list would be nearly identical and that way we could afford a more elaborate party. Has anyone done this and how did you handle invitations? We will both be inviting a couple of families that don't know both children -- and we don't want them to feel like they should be bringing a gift for the other child....

Re: Joint birthday party for my daughter and her preschool buddy
I have done this for the last 3 years, and everyone in my group of mummy friends do this. We have 21 girls in our group when fully assembled and I am not going to 21 parties!!!
The first year we were 4 girls, the second year we were 3 and this year only two of us did the party. It works really well as the work and the money is shared out! We just do a joint invite, I will post on tonight if I can, it just says come and share our party! Its great!
We ask for no gifts, but some people do bring a small token gift, its up to them. We go to another joint party for 8 kids, and bringing 8 gifts is a pita.
We just plan carefully, we have a meeting (usually over cocktails) a week or so before hand and arrange who is doing what, and on the day it has always run like clockwork! I love joint parties!!
