Jon & Kate plus 8- this weeks epi--spoilers
I had already read about them going to Hawaii to renew there vows which I think is awesome--even tho of course it is all paid for.
Its amazing to see the lil kids growing up--theytalk so clearly now, it makes me sad they r not babies anymore..
I love this show very much.
Personally I did not like the dress Kate chose for the ceremony at all--it was too flowy and imo doesnt fit her figure at all

They are very fortunate to get all these things for free. Can you imagine how much 10 plane tickets to hawaii would cost?

I didn't seem to support her chest enough, but maybe it will look better after alterations. I get that she wanted something flowy for Hawaii.
It kinda made me want to renew my vows next year for my 5 year anniversary (even if we can't afford to go to Hawaii.)

LOL...well i saw that the celeb board wasnt having much activity and my work computer cant handle posting pics or I would have done that--so instead i opted to start threads on all the shows i watched recently

LOL...well i saw that the celeb board wasnt having much activity and my work computer cant handle posting pics or I would have done that--so instead i opted to start threads on all the shows i watched recently
I watch way too much tv & I am more interested in the tv threads than the celeb pics anyway, but I think this is the only show we have in common.
I love Jon & Kate, but I tape it & watch it when DH is reading late at night, b/c he hates it.

I love the dress she picked out, perfect for Hawaii!! She looked beautiful.  The kids are SO cute!!! I love this show too, makes me feel better again after watching it and having a rough day with just my 2 kids--lol

I still watch this show, but I think the "hawaii" episode put me over the edge. Yes they are lucky and I get that, but Hawaii??
Would they have taken all 8 kids if it wasn't paid for?

they said they originally planned their wedding for hawaii but gave in to family pressure to have it local cause no one wanted to travel,
also jon is part hawaiian and has family there that he has not seen in years,
if it was not paid for i don't think they would be going at all, they have said many times how appreciative they are of all that they are given and i believe that they are,,
hey they have 8 kids i think they deserve a good get away

Love the show!! Anyone else notice how much happier Jon seems? I wonder if it's because the kids are getting older and more independent or that he doesn't have to stress over money anymore??? Does he work anymore?

I didn't like the dress either. I thought it looked like a nightgown. There are definitely nicer "flowy, beachy" dresses out there and I'm sure Kleinfeld's has them, but I guess the important thing is that Kate loved it. It is getting slightly annoying to me that they keep getting all of these great things for free. I give them credit though -- they run what seems to be an amazing household of adorable kids and manage to get free trips, clothes, toys, professional photos, etc. Kate inspires me (and sometimes annoys me). If she can handle 8 (with the help of the people doing her laundry, etc), I should be able to handle my 1 DD.

neither of them work anymore. they get kraft services whenever the show tapes - which is often. all their trips are free. they get thousands for appearances they do all the time. they have a babysitter. they are having a house built for them by TLC and it will have crew facilities. the list goes on and on.
i used to love this show but after googling and reading a lot about them i am not really a fan anymore. i still watch sometimes cuz i can't resist the kids - they are adorable. but i'm not a big fan of jon and kate. now i can't help but feel that they are exploiting their children. eta - i understood it at first because they were really struggling but now it seems excessive and unnecessary.

Gosselins Without Pity
This one just really made me think about how the kids are supporting the parents and how embarrassing it may be for them as they grow older to have their "cute" moments broadcast to the world.
Hmmmm, I am totally being such a scrooge with this post. Please don't take it that way. I love the kids and I have to admit I have that Hawaii episode on my DVR - a little hypocritical I know. So I'm not really trying to start controversy. Just sharing what I think/learned.

I love that show!!! I can't wait to watch the Hawaii episode. I visted the Grand Waliea while on our HM. It is the most amazing looking hotel.

I agree, I think they really make sure its a family show. I get the kids dont have a say in it...but I would take that too...ALL of IT...if it were me...in order to better my family. They are getting AMAZING life experiences out of this , that those parents could otherwise not provide them with...ever.
I would do it.

I agree, I think they really make sure its a family show. I get the kids dont have a say in it...but I would take that too...ALL of IT...if it were me...in order to better my family. If I were in their shoes I probably would have done the show too. And no, Jon doesn't work anymore, so of course he is happy!
The part that soured me on the show is that they USED to say that everything you saw was real, they dont fake anything for the cameras, which is not true anymore. I think it was in the beginning.
Jon doesnt work, yet they say he works for Bob "at home". Also, the episode they were looking for homes - they are having a house built for them. My sister lives in VA where they looked at a house - she said the R/E agents were so excited, the town was excited, it was in the news - and they were never told it was just for the show and they had no interest in the house AT ALL. After the fact they said that they wanted it to look like they were buying a house so fans wouldnt know they were having a custom built home done.
and it was a $1.2MM house - Kate needs to stop crying poverty - we all know they are raking in the $$$.
