Jones Beach concert
Does anyone know what type of COVID test is required for Jones Beach concerts? Rapid or PcR? I don’t see that information specified anywhere and don’t want to get the wrong test. Also, how far in advance of the event can I get a test? In one place I saw 72 hours, another said 48.

I've been to a few concerts there this summer and no test and no proof of vaccine was required
ETA: Sorry, I see they will be requiring test or vaccine after 10/4. But the last concert for this season in on 10/2, so you shouldn't need anything

Are you going to the show next Saturday? We are and I scheduled a covid test for my daughter. According to their site, it can be a rapid and you have to print the results. Up to 72 hours in advance

2 shows before 10/4 are requiring a covid test or proof. Depends on the artists.

Yes, each artist has different requirements I think My friend just went to Dave Matthews Band and they required vaccine proof or negative test

It's a diagnostic test within 72 hours (so PCR) for the 10/2 concert (the info is on the Live Nation site when you search the concert under important event info).

Re: Jones Beach concert
Which site are you referring to? Another response says must be PcR. I don’t want to get the wrong test but it’s very hard to time a PcR. Needs to be within whatever window is required but not too late so there is time for results

Live Nation - a diagnostic test is a PCR so you need to take a PCR test within 72 hours of the event. Or be vaccinated.

It says “PCR or antigen” test. They’re even accepting at home tests too.

They also had a tent set up outside the stadium offering rapid tests.

Good to know- thank you. If they offer rapid there, they must accept rapid. I just can’t find a place to get a PcR that will be within 72 hours and guaranteed to get my results in time.

If you go to CVS, you will have your results in 24-36 hours. My last two tests in the last month or so have gotten the results in about 30 hours.

Re: Jones Beach concert
I dont understand why testing or proof of vaccination is required, it is outside!!! I have been to many Mets games over the summer and last week, and did not have to show any proof or testing.

Football and baseball games are packed on top of one another. Haven’t heard of spikes and they have been playing for awhile. Even football is in week 3, missing the preseason. College football weeks also.

Yes I see that every week. Packed. But it's outside. None of the predicted spikes. But I guess the air at Jones Beach is different

If you have been going to concerts at Jones Beach this year as I have, you would know it has nothing to do with the air at Jones Beach. These are concerts hosted by Livenation, and livenation made the decision that after 10/4 I believe, all concerts, regardless of venue, need to be vaccinated or have a negative test. Before October 4th , it was up to the artist in a Livenation show if they wanted their audience vaccinated/tested or not. So feel free to complain to livenation.Has nothing to do with Jones Beach or the state of NY, sorry to disappoint.

Didn't someone say it went by artist? Not everyone required either?
Edited as Chill said she was not required.

At Zac Brown, you did not need it. At DMB last week, we did. They had a rapid site set up at the entrance. JLM is saying after 10/4 it's a livenation rule but before that it was an artist rule and that makes sense here.
