Dude, I eat the stuff. It's up to you if you want to be on the receiving end of my noxious fumes. Don't say I didnt warn you. I still vote for a diner.

Please put me down for "maybe". I will let you know as the date gets closer. My shower is the next day...
They just opened up a Houlihans on 110 in Farmingdale (is that just another variation of applebee's?). There is also a Chipolte over there.... but that might re-open the fumes issueChat Icon

IMO you can never go wrong with a Diner. They have everything. So everyone will be able to find something they eat.

As long as a diner can push three or more tables together, it should be fine. Someone would just have to show up about 20-30 minutes before and let them know there is a big party coming since they usually dont take reservations. I think it would be easier to get a big table at a diner than at a chain place.

Please put me down for a maybe and I'm good for the grab bag too!!

Diners in the area... Spartan (right on 110 across from the Multiplex) and Ambrosia (right off of 110 near Adventureland area). Both are pretty large and could accomodate a group. I know Ambrosia has a room... might be worth calling in advance.

i agree... i know there is a diner on the corner of route 24 (conklin st.) and route 110, called the spartan diner. no idea what it's like since i haven't been there in YEARS, but i am sure there are plenty of other diners on 110 too.

NOOOOOOOOO not the Spartan Diner!!!!!!!

My mom's good friend used to waitress there, and...well...let's just say you don't want to eat there. I'll leave it at that. Chat Icon

I would LOVE for it to be at a diner--we don't have them in NC and I miss diner food so much Chat Icon If we're looking at Farmingdale, there's a great diner called the Embassy Diner, on Hempstead Tpke. It's right across from New Island Hospital.

Just a suggestion from someone who used to live in Farmingdale. Chat Icon

Someone will have to give me directions. I'm in Queens (Kew Gardens) and my knowledge of LI ends at Jones Beach! Chat Icon

How far is Farmingdale from the Nassau/Queens border? I hate setting my alarm on Saturdays!

okay okay!! Chat Icon

i agree, the embassy diner is good, but it's a little on the small side for such a large group of us... maybe there is one further up on 110?

No it was fine. I just thought variety would be nice. Every GTG is always at one of only a few places.
