July 4th BBQ

DH and I are hosting our first "party" at our house this coming weekend for a July 4th BBQ

This is what I'm making so far, is it too much, or should I have more options? I love to entertain and living in an apartment for so long, I never really got the chance:

Appitizers:
Pigs in Blanket (big inside joke in this group)
Cheese/Crackers
Fresh Fruit
Pita Chips/Hummus Dip
Chips and Dips

Dinner:
Burgers/Dogs/Turkey Sausage (we don't eat pork)
Chicken
Corn on the Cob
My yummy grilled Yams
Marinated Veggie Kabobs
Mac. Salad
Pot. Salad
Cole Slaw
3 Bean Salad

I'll also be making some Sangria Chat Icon

Dessert:
Fresh Fruit
Jello Flag (I know, cheesy, but think it's cute)
Apple Pie

I would probably the cheese & crackers (cheese doesn't sit outside too well) and potato salad (since you have yams) and maybe one other - you have a lot of side dishes going on. But it all sounds yummy!!

Have fun! I am sure it will be great!!

It all sounds great---and you seem to entertain like me, with way too much food. We are having a BBQ in a few weeks and DH is already on my case about not making too much.

This is me to a T. I would rather have too much then end up short. I always make too much food and offer a wide variety.

Same thing, and then I don't have to cook! I absolutely love to entertain! I do Thanksgiving every year in my family and I don't have a small family, not that I'm married, it's twice the size and I can't wait for Thanksgiving this year to do it in our house instead of having my 20 immediate family over in my one bedroom apartment!

We're having about 20 people, two of our friends have kids, and of course they are bringing them!

I'm excited because this is the first time since we've been in the house that we're entertaining friends. We've had both our families over, but I don't count that Chat Icon
