July/August Mommies - have you started planning birthdays yet?

Seamus will be 1 July 22nd and I just booked the hall. With it being the summer I didnt want to not get aplce because of all parties.

I am also in the process of booking Nick the Baloonatic

Everyone is pitching in and making food. I dont want too much hot stuff though - any suggestions? My mom is going to make a big tray of her famous southern fried chicken - I figured I could serve this hot or cold. Then I am going to get a big sandwich with potato and macaroni salad, plus regular salad as well. Then I was figuring a pasta dish. Maybe some penna ala vodka and some sort of veggie/pasta salad. Didnt want to do so much food. We are probably having about 60 or 70 people. (I rented a Knights of Columbus Hall)

I put my list together - and it's huge.

We are doing it at my house - I have a huge yard and we own 2 party tents.

I was thinking of hiring someone to BBQ, but I have to price it out.

yes ive started....dd will be 1 on august 24th

we're having it in our house....bbq so hoping for a beautiful day......it will be only family and some friends....40ppl max....we have a HUGE family so it would be 100ppl + if we invited everyone which means we would have to do a hall again and we cant afford it....we did a vfw hall and catered and it still was a lil over $2000for her christening

the theme will be sea life/ocean life

I already contacted Val (Do Me a Favor) so i have the favor container idea from her and i bought stuff from oriental trading already to put in the containers....we have maybe about 8 small kids/babies coming so no entertainment .......and as for the adult favors it will be hershey bars with ocean wrappers with dd's pic etc on them

bought the paper for the invites....just plain computer type paper with a sea life border ....got a cute wording from a website and im going to print them out myself
