Jumping at cars
My dog constantly jumps at cars when we take him for walks, and we have no clue how to stop it? Any suggestions?

Re: Jumping at cars
when we first started taking my dog for walks we would make him sit every time a car would pass (quiet neighborhood) and give him a treat. my fear was that he would get out of my grip and chase the cars! since we trained him like that he totally ignores cars now.
try making him sit when you see a car approaching and reward him with a treat.
good luck!

Re: Jumping at cars
my neighbors border collie does this. He said it's the nature of the breed to stop moving things.... he just stands with the leash tight, lets the dog attempt to lunge and then keeps walking without drawing attention to it
