Re: June/July 2009 Mommies GTG- ETA: Sept 2nd or Sept 3rd?
either day works for me!!!!
i think we'll be better off with a restaurant that's kid friendly. my concern with a park is if it gets too hot - we don't have 'let's run around and play' kids - we have 'sit in carseat and BOIL' kids.... i don't know about your babies - but Emma's MISERABLE when she's hot...and her back gets VERY hot in the car seat!

Re: June/July 2009 Mommies GTG- ETA: Sept 2nd or Sept 3rd?
Ok I am fine with a kid friendly restaurant Jess. That makes sense. Liam doesn't love the heat either.
Now I think most of us are in Suffolk and Jess and Tara are coming from NJ. Anyone know of a kid friendly place in between all of us? Maybe a Friendlys? Or a diner with a separate area they can put us?
I can think of some areas by me but I am in Nesconset. I know we wanted to try to go a little further West.

Does Long Island have 'Red Robbin' restaurants?? I always found them to be very kid friendly, plus it's a nice atmosphere and I think they have great burgers!
Just throwing that out there...

We don't have them.
I know places to around Smithaven...Maybe we could even get a separate room somewhere if we know how many people we'll have...

That's what I was thinking. Like the diner by us has a separate room. I can call places and ask if I know names and how many of us there will be.

Re: June/July 2009 Mommies GTG- ETA: Sept 2nd or Sept 3rd?
i know - most local pizza places have 'separate rooms' for dining...
i know there's a place called Alitalia near my parents (lindenhurst) that's REALLY good and they have a private room....
we could also do a mall food court - that's normally a LARGE open space!
sunrise mall just re-did their entire food court - it's lovely now!
eta: and ya know what - i just realized - at a food court - we won't be asked to leave - or have to deal with the 'look' from a waiter - anyone who's been to a gtg knows what i'm talking about :)

this is a good idea. . . we'll be in no rush to leave and people will have a variety of food to choose from OR could even bring something with them if they preferred.

Donegal419 are you definitely in on Sept 3?
I am fine with a food court. What does everyone think?
How about around 1230 or 1?

I may possibly go depending on the location. I actually don't drive(I know, I'm working on it!). So depending on where it is, my husband might be able to drop me off. So keep me posted on the location!

What time would this gtg take place? I also have a 2 year old that I would probably need to leave at home with DH.

Re: June/July 2009 Mommies GTG- ETA:Sept 3rd
yay count us in
I think a park sounds like a good idea...September weather is normally the best IMO...not to hot not to cold so outdoors sounds great to me but Im up for anything!
Just some suggestions but Im up for anything...
...the boardwalk by Port Washington looks really nice to walk and I believe there is a park there(I've been meaning to go there and check it out but its been to hot for me)
Other thoughts: Heckscher Park in Huntington Eisenhower Park in East Meadow
"coffee in the park"..ok so I need coffee right now
