Just a little friendly warning
One of the attorneys who works in the office has a college-aged daughter who, last week, went into a coma, and had to have an emergency liver transplant because she "accidentally" overdosed on tylenol. I don't know how much of the "accident" part is true, but it really made me start to think twice about medicating Alex. Giving your child too much of any medicine can be VERY harmful, because you never know if he/she has a weakened system. Of course, not everyone who has too much tylenol will need such drastic measures - only those who are particularly susceptible, for whatever reason (in my co-worker's case, probably because his daughter's liver was weakened from too much alcohol, as she's in her first year of college). It reminds me, as well, of a case my firm handled a few years ago of a child who died from tylenol overdose. The parents accidentally gave their baby an overdose by using children's, instead of infant's, tylenol.
I know sometimes when our babies are cranky and miserable, it's tempting to just assume they are teething, and to dope them up for the night. But remember that even though in small doses, it's ok, that at the end of the day, it IS a drug that affects your baby's little system. And, always, ALWAYS make sure you give the right dose
Just a friendly reminder
