Just because I'm pregnant with #2 doesn't mean I'm NOT pregnant!!!!!!

Sorry for the vent but DH really has me at my wits end these days
He has been laid off with the union since October, and while I understand it's stressful for him, what does he think, it's been a picnic for me??????

I feel like he doesn't even acknowledge the fact that I'm pregnant and while yes, he has been working side jobs, I am STILL working FULL-TIME and trying to get a business off the ground all while doing everything else around the house AND taking DS to DC.........

Not that he did it with our first, but jeez! Is it impossible to do a little extra around the house to at least acknowledge the fact that I'm pregnant????

We got into it this morning and I told him (via text) that I am sick of the lack of consideration on his part. I have been nothing but supportive of him taking classes to get his master's (which affects me directly because I have to find someone to watch DS Tues and Thurs nights until I get home from work), helped him get a resume together for possibly leaving the union for another job, and tried to be a moral support in what can only be described as a very difficult ime in BOTH of our lives.


I'm not complaining about the fact that he's not working FT, but pitch in around the house....clean the bathroom (has never once since we bought this house 6 years ago), vacuum without me asking....crack a recipe book and attempt to make dinner (something else he has NEVER done unless it's mac n cheese). If anything he's even MORE of a slob because he's home more now.....

I told him that the ONLY Thing I wanted for Christmas was for him to make an effort to help me more around the house......nothing.

Am I asking too much here???????????

I can relate to having a DH who does not do much to help.

I am 7 months pregnant with #2, and DH does not lift a finger to help. He has always been the type that has to be asked, prodded, nagged, to do anything.

And when he does anything- he expects a party thrown in his honor or something...

You are not asking too much AT ALL- you are overloaded right now and you need a PARTNER to help you run that household and parent DS. I say make a list and start splitting duties.

As your pregnancy progresses- you are going to need him more. Besides, when #2 comes, it will be much more work for both of you- might as well get him used to doing more now!!!!!!

to you. I don't think you are asking too much because I ask for the same and I don't get it either. When I was pregnant with #1, I think there was much more consideration than there is now that I am preggo with #2. My DH just does not realize how difficult it is to work, clean, tend to DD and be preggo all at the same time. DH seems to think I am a superwoman and don't require any assistance at all.

I think we should start a suppot group .

For those of you who don't know Gina... she is the hardest working person I know and that's not me being bias because she is one of my best friends!
She works full time, is a GREAT mom to an awesome little boy.. and is working really hard to get her new business off the ground.
She is also SUPER mom because anytime you go to her house she is making dinner (she is the best cook ever) and always cleaning up. She runs a household like I can only wish I will be able to someday..
I think sometimes you are taken for granted because you are so awesome at doing everything..
Tell the DH it's time for a little help... especially because you're pregnant..because you deserve it!
