Just curious..c section moms..another question..
What kind of pain meds were you given?
How long did you take them after coming home?
I was given ibuprofin and percaset while in the hospital. Percaset did NOTHING for me but they wouldnt give me anything different. They sent me home with a script for tylenol with codeine which was actually a bit better. I took them for about 5 days after being home.
How about you?

Re: Just curious..c section moms..another question..
I was only given Motrin in the hospital which I actually thought was something stronger until I asked if I'm getting some pills to go home with and they told me to take extra ibuprofin to make up for the milligrams... anyway, I lowered my dose by the end of my first week home and by time week 3 started I'm pretty sure I was off of them. I'm glad they didn't give me anything stronger. When I got my gall bladder taken out, I was given pain killers and I did NOT like the feeling at all!
ETA - the ibuprofin did NOT cure my pain 100%. I was not comfortable for a good 3 weeks once I got home. I had shooting pain up and down my legs and my belly hurt so bad. I guess they took the edge off, but luckily I lived with it!

percoset and motrin...I took the percoset as directed (1-2 pills every 4 hours) and they worked like a charm...I came home with them as well and took them for about a week....I only took one at a time when I was home because 2 left me very doped up

I was given the same meds in the hospital. I found that they cut the pain but didn't completely make it go away.
I left with scripts for ibuprofen and darvaset (sp?).

Re: Just curious..c section moms..another question..
I got Tyylenol in the hospital and percoset which helped me a lot...but when i went home they told me to just go with advil if the pain got bad. I actually needed the percoset more for my breast engorgement pain then the c-section.

Re: Just curious..c section moms..another question..
I took 800 mg motrin for the first two days in the hospital after my c/s. I took nothing else and went home with nothing and found I did not need any additional meds.

percoset in the hospital, nothing when I left. They told me to take motrin at home if I needed it.

Re: Just curious..c section moms..another question..
I was sent home with percocet, as well. I took it for about three or four days, then I switched to aleve and percogesic (over the counter percocet which worked better, believe it or not). I needed that for about a week after coming home. I was still achey after that, but it wasn't anything I couldn't live with.
