Just got a pretty hard jab to the belly on the train...
My big bellly is really starting to get in the way of things I'm noticing, but on the train in the morning especially. Everyone was pouring out at 42nd St and I stay on and people don't see my belly right away and some guy jabbed me with his...I don't know what it was actually, but it really hurt....the baby's ok right?
I just ate a granola bar (they seem to make him kick alot and move around) so I can make sure I feel him and that he's ok. Nothing yet, but is this something I need to worry about or he's pretty well protected as far as that stuff goes?

Drink some Oj.. that would get him moving so you can feel him. Feel for the 10 movements in an hour.
My dd kicked me really hard yesterday while changing her diaper.. it Knocked the wind out of me, everything was okay.

You are well protected! One of my dogs likes to walk on my belly He is 50lbs!!
Like the Previous poster said, try some OJ and give it a little while...You little one may be sleeping still! If you are worried call your practitioner!

I think the baby is pretty well insulated in there... But, definitely eat something and see what you feel. Don't stress if you don't feel anything though-- I know I don't feel constant movement-- so, if you don't normally feel movement at this time, I would not necessarily worry.
You can always put a call into your doc though to be safe!

Your little guy is under so many layers you'd be surprised! ITA with the girls, let us know how you feel later on sweetie...and next time some douche bumps into you say "HEY!! Lady with a BABY!!" And point to your belly

Re: Just got a pretty hard jab to the belly on the train...
should be ok because there is lots of padding there but try something sugary and if at all possible, i know you're at work so this might be tough, try and lay down for a few minutes. If not, sit with your legs crossed, leaning to the left and that should help... thats how I always check to see if my is awake or not

Re: Just got a pretty hard jab to the belly on the train...
Cause I'm the worst ever. I'm embarrassed to say this but I have not taken one belly pic at all so far. I will do it this weekend I promise....I just wish I had something to compare it to. Oh well, current is better than nothing I guess.
ETA: Sorry Lupe, this should've quoted you.

I am sure the baby is fine. Also - I think you might be too early to use food or OJ to start counting kicks - thats not usually done until the third trimester - over 30 weeks or so. I think the kick counting is 10 in two hours - but I don't want you to worry if that doesn't happen. I still don't feel consistent kicks at 26 weeks.

Thats what I thought too but my Dr told me I could do this if I feel like I am not feeling them(this was at 26 weeks) He also said they have roughly 40 minute sleep schedules so there may be 40 mins where you do not feel them. I am 28 weeks today and their movement has definitely become more regular in the past week or so than before.

My dog & 2-year old are constantly stepping on my belly- I'm sure it's fine but I can certainly understand why you'd be nervous.
