Just got back from Beaches Turks & Caicos! Review & Pics

We went to Beaches Turks & Caicos from 12/14 - 12/19 and stayed in a a DaVinci Family suite in the Italian Village. Room 3202.

Room: A+
Awesome. There were 3 adults, a 4 year old and a 1 year in our suite. The suite can fit up to 8 people. It was really great. We had a king size bed and a daybed with a trundle in our room. Our balcony overlooked the water which was really nice. There was a long hallway that had a pocket door that led to the kids room. There were bunk beds and the bottom bunk also had a trundle. My mom slept on the bottom bunk, my 4 year old on the top and my 1 year old in a crib. There was one bathroom which was huge. Double sink, huge tub, a shower and the toilet with its own little doors. There was also a sink/vanity in the kids room. Housekeeping did an amazing job of cleaning the room every day and when they did the turn down service in th evenings they gave us fresh towels again and emptied all the garbages again.

Resort: A+
The ground were beautiful, very well maintained and SPOTLESS every single day. There are 3 villages - French, Italian and Caribbean. They were all very nice - Italian and French are newer so they are a little nicer. They both reminded me a little of Vegas. Caribbean was very lush and tropical. IMO, there is really not a bad location. Everything was easily accessible and walkable.

Beach: A
The only reason it doesn't get an A+ from me is because I thought it was on the small side. On most of the beach there was only room for one row of beach chairs. In front of the Italian Village, there were 2 rows of beach chairs. The water was beautiful though. My 1 year old hated the sand so we spent most of the times at the pools.

Pools: A+
There are 6 pools. 3 of them have swim up bars which was very fun. We only went in the Italian Village and French Village pools. They are both really nice. The gift shop sells floats and stuff so you can use them in the pool. In both pools there was a kiddie area and a large hot tub. Both also has an area where you could walk right in.

Food: B-/C
I thought it was average but I expected that. There are 16 restaurants. We didn't get to all of them. Plenty of options for everyone and you can eat whenever you want and get takeout from all of them. Our favorite was the Sushi place. Only 2 of the restaurants were "dressy." There is one restaurant that you need reservations for - Kimono's the hibachi place. You can't make them in advance, but have your concierge make them when you arrive. You can pre-book and pre-pay the character breakfast. We booked it a few days before we left. It was really cute. Typical character breakfast where everyone visits your table for a picture.

Camp Sesame: A+
My kids loved it. They went 2 days for 3 hours each. It's included in the price and they keep the kids super busy with fun activities such as Elmocize with Elmo and baking cookies with Cookie Monster. They give you a cell phone so it makes the process worry-free.

I see a lot of people ask if you tip and who to tip and how much extra do you spend at an all inclusive.

We tipped the van driver both ways and the bell hop. I also left some cash for housekeeping the day we checked out. That's it. Cash was not accepted anywhere on property. They give you card when you check in so you can charge things to your room or you can use a credit card. When we checked out our bill was $1200. But - we did a few extra things. We did a Catamaran cruise which was $350 and the 3 of us got treatments at the spa which was almost $600. The rest of it was tote bags and other junk I bought at the gift shop.

Things to bring with you:
- tote/beach bag - totally did not think of this. I wound up buying 3 of them while we were there. Chat Icon Chat Icon
- Sunscreen. A bottle of Coppertone was $18!!

I'm sure there is so much I left out. Please FM me with any specific questions. Pricing is on their website and I booked directly through their website which was very easy.

Oh - flights! We flew direct from JFK on Jet Blue. 2.5 hours going there and 3 going back. You really can't beat it!!

Yes, there is snorkeling near by. I heard the reef if very beautiful. We took a catamaran cruise to go snorkeling but I wound up staying on the boat with my kids while my DH snorkeled. I haven't gotten my old school underwater pics developed yet.

Awesome pics!

One question: were there many couples there without kids? DH and I did Sandals and DH loved them and wants to go back to Turks n Caicos, but he said there isnt a Sandals there, only a Beaches and a Club Med (all inclusive resort which he already did before we met).

But is Beaches too kid oriented for us?

Dh&I went to beaches t&c 3 years ago. We don't have any kids. We went mid may so school was still in session and feel like we were still able to have an adult relaxed vacation! Hardly saw the kids at restaurants or while at the beach! Sometimes there would be a crowd of kids in the pool but never overwhelming. We met a couple on their honeymoon there. Lots of couples free of kids.

awesome. We randomly drifted onto the property there when we were staying down the beach at another resort and we were quite impressed.

Glad you had a great time.
