Kids amenities like at Beaches - Turks and Caicos but cheaper?
I'm definitely looking into Aruba at the Marriott Surf Club. So far that's my top choice. Beaches would be awesome but we could never afford it.
We're looking for a romantic resort but yet a lot of fun for the kids and are within walking distance to stores, restaurants, bars, etc. Are there any other resorts in the Caribbean that have a lazy rizer, water slides, etc for the kids too? Also a Kids Club?
My DH doesn't want to go back to the Bahamas (went there on our honeymoon) so Atlantis is out.
If they could only take out all the fun kid stuff out of Beaches and place it on a different more affordable island!

It is, but my DH said it's not safe there. Same with Mexico. Outside the resort area that is.

We just got back from Dreams Riviera Cancun - it was awesome! Great pools, drinks, and the kids did not want to leave the kids club. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat.

It's completely safe there. Been many many times.
I know he has fear about it but both places are such tourist hotbeds it's insulated.
I have never had one bad incident in my 8 trips to either place.
We ventured outside of the resort as well.
Just something to think about.

I agree! I've been to Jamaica (and Mexico) many times and have never had an issue and I have also ventured off resort in Negril, although I don't stay at the big chain resorts, I stay at locally owned establishments (ahh, paradise!!).
Take a look at FDR Pebbles resort in Montego Bay, it is an all-inclusive resort family resort with tons of activities for the kids. I believe the stay also includes a nanny that is designated for the little one.

Jamaica - totally safe. And you can stay at Beaches Sandy Bay in Negril & take the free Beaches shuttle for the 5 minute ride to Beaches Negril & use all their facilities for free! Plus it's so much cheaper!!
**Just announced - Companion flies free offer for Beaches - check it out on the website or I have the details. I plan to do a blog post on it later today. And there's another Military Freinds & Family promo that was just announced too - here's my blog on that - http://islandbreeze.wordpress.com/2011/07/01/beaches-resorts-military-friends-family-special/
Beaches Military Friends & Family Discount
Brian Sang is the General Manager at Beaches Sandy Bay and he is a good friend but not only that, he runs a great program down there.
We will be there July 16-23, 2011 and I am looking forward to taking in the free scuba diving. Plus, the sunsets there are legendary!! Will be doing several "live from" spots on our Facebook page.
15 days till Beaches and Seven Mile Beach!!

I also have to agree with this having been to both places and many other Islands.

We went to Iberostar Lindo (or Maya the suite side). DD was 1 and my nephew was 6. It was a lot of fun.
