Re: just got back from the doc and depressed...
Ok, dont worry too much you can totally fix this. you need to watch everything for at least 4 weeks that goes into your mouth and I bet you will lose some weight and its healthy.
make sure to eat a lot of protein balanced with carbs
drink water try to flavor it with a splash of country time lemonade, alternate 1 8 oz plain next one with lemonade
at lunch time try to have a broth soup in there along with your sandwich or portioned meal- that is extra liquid too ( no you wont retain more water) make sure to eat dairy only 8 oz of milk a day though, go for cheeses, yogurt.
watch out for your breads, cereals, potatoes, rice, pasta
very important to watch your portions with these- load up on veggies and use I cant believe its not butter instead of oil ( told per diabetic center) do you like salad? add a salad to your lunch and dinner too.
for snacks get those 100 calorie pack snacks but make sure to eat some protein with it- a slice of cheese, peanut butter
watch your fruit intake as well remember to always have your protein to break down the carb and fat.
good luck!
wanted to add and if you dont have high blood pressure try to walk 15 min a day thats all it takes is 15 min walk around the block that will help you too

Re: just got back from the doc and depressed...
I felt depressed after every dr. appointment too. They were constantly telling me I gained too much, cut back on carbs, etc. Here I am at 41 week and gained 55lbs. Everyone is telling me I look great and can't believe that number. I am active and still feel great. Some people just gain more than others. I don't even eat a lot more than I did pre-pregnancy, my metabolism just totally changed. try not to worry about it

Re: just got back from the doc and depressed...
With both my pregnancies I had one month that I gained exactly 10 pounds. It was a growth spurt for the baby I think. For my daughter it was my 5th month and for my son it was my 6th month.
Everything in moderation and don't stress too much.

Re: just got back from the doc and depressed...
sorry to hijack, but when i was pregnant i was doing pretty good gaining a normal amount each month and then at my 6 month check up, the baby had a growth spurt and i had gained 10 lbs, i was so upset b/c i really wasnt eating bad. The next month i went in to be weighed and i gained nothing for that month, so it evens out eventually I ended up gaining 40lbs altogether (most of it the 2nd and 3rd trimester, I didnt even really show till i was 20 weeks) and now 11 months after having my DS, pretty much all of it is off, so dont worry to much. Do whats good for you and the baby now!

Re: just got back from the doc and depressed...
I gained 50 with each pregnancy and I lost all of it. Don't let the DR stress you too much. I cried after every visit too though.

It comes off after the baby is born As long as that baby you are baking is healthy, that's all that matters

Re: just got back from the doc and depressed...
don't stress over it, i am 29 weeks and have gained 26 pounds, i am also on a low carb diet because i have juvenile diabetes so i mostly eat healthy protein and veggies, and occasional sugar free desserts. its really mostly water weight in my boobs and stomach i am sure it will come off post preggo.
