Just got our 1st oil delivery and have a ?

We locked in with Petro with a cap at $3.81/gallon about a month ago. They scheduled us to receive oil deliveries every 6 weeks. We just had our first delivery today and saw they charged us the full $3.81 per gallon even though the price of oil today is $3.59. The guy on the phone said that you get charged a .35 cent premium per gallon for being locked in at the $3.81....does that sound right?? Obviously, this was NEVER mentioned to us before we signed the contract.

I can't really offer any advice... but this is exactly the reason why I always say on here never sign an oil deal with a cap rate. Either lock in fixed or just do COD/Heat USA.

These companies can arbitrarially charge you whatever they want when there is a cap in play.

call and speak to a manager. I got my first bill and they billed me at the current delivery rate when I was supposed to get a special one time first delivery rate.

They ended up changing it but I had to get a manager to actually make the changes

Go through your contract with a fine tooth comb.

Then call them.
