Just how curvy is America Ferrara?

There's been much talk about America Ferrara as a good example of a curvy woman. After all, the star of Ugly Betty did make a movie called "Real Women Have Curves." The purple Brian Reyes gown that she wore for at the Golden Globes was cited as a fine example of a dress for a larger woman. But just how large is America Ferrara?

The dress is currently up for auction through Clothes Off Our Backs, a great charity that auctions off celebrity items for various causes. The size? America is a size six. Smaller than Meryl Streep, whose Carolina Herrera dress also up for auction, is a size eight. I love Ugly Betty and I think America Ferrara is a very charming actress but I bristle when I see her used as an example of a plus-sized or even fuller figured woman.

I definitely believe she could be a size 6.

Well, when you stand a 6 next to a bunch of 0s and 2s it's going to make the 6 look bigger.

It's possible for her to be a 6, the purple dress looks like it could be a 6. Whatever the size is, she looks wonderful.

Comparing her to Meryl Streep is apples and oranges. Meryl is taller and leaner, carries her weight differently.

I agree- a 6 is not plus size.

I think she looks great. I don't concern myself with the number anymore because each different designer or clothing line is sized so different. I can wear a 12, 14 or a 16, depending on the maker of the clothes!.

I know quite a few people who you wouldn't think were a certain size but they were. I was shopping with a friend of mine years ago (In the Commack Flea Market-which is now King Kullen, buffet restaurant, etc.) She asked to try on something in a 4 and the woman laughed in her face and said YOU'RE a 4?? So rude. Different body shapes wear different sizes. For what I weigh you would not believe what my size is

Also she is 5'1" & Meryl is 5'6" to compare them both is crazy

She looks like a size 10. There is nothing wrong with size 10!!!!!

Maybe it is the camera adding a few lbs.

they dress could been altered- let out etc

she looks very sucked it- like she is wearing a griddle

I would say she is an 8 or 10 in regular clothes- but couture is not comparable

dress sizes never make sense

I have dresses that are a size 2 and my wedding dress was an 8

there is no standard - so you really can't compare at all

I think it depends on how tall she is. I think if she is 5'2 or under it is possible.

I think she is a 6-8 or so. However, she is very short and that makes her appear wider.

I am only 5'2" and if i ever got to being a size 6 or 8, I would look very chunky.

However, if someone is 5'6" or taller size 6-8 would be perfect on them.

she looks bigger than a 6 to me, maybe she’s lost weight recently. and I cannot believe this! if anyone in Hollywood is bigger than a size 2, all the rags call her a fatty. now America is being questioned about being curvy? they need to STOP the insanity
