I've been thinking about getting it done. Let me know how it goes. Where are you going to get it done?

Not always the case...
First of all, it depends if the formula used has formaldehyde.... formaldehyde happens to be VERY good for your hair.. not so good for the rest of your body though...
A good friend of mine had it done (with formaldehyde when it first got popular).. it torched her hair.. breakage everywhere and gave her more frizz. It also only lasted her 1 month, then it washed out leaving her hair a frizzy broken mess.
I have japanese, my hair looks 100% healthy. It feels healthy... nothing dead, broken or dull about it...
Some people LOVE the brazilian. My hair lady who gives me the jap tells me she has clients who LOVE the brazilian.. so to each his own I guess.
Just make sure you're going to a reputible salon where they know what you're doing. Also, if they are using the formula with the formaldehyde, make sure they have a fan on!!

Re: Just made my Brazilian Straightening Appt
I also get my hair Japanese Straightened - I actually am going tomorrow!
I can say the Japanese Straightening is great! I really love it and it makes my hair look healthy - the only bad thing was that the last time the salon was super busy and they left it in way too long and I had a medium chunk of hair break off. It was easily covered... but a bit scary! I just wanted to tell you so you make sure that they leave it in only as long as necessary - not longer.
All in all...my hair is naturally a frizzy mess - kinda like a Brillo pad ... and the straightening works wonders!
The salon I go to isn't all that expensive either! FM me for more info if you want to!
Good luck!
