Kate Gosselin and Her Kids to Return to TV
Not since the heyday of Lucille Ball has one woman been so visible on TV – and now it's Kate Gosselin's turn.
From her launching pad to fame, Jon & Kate Plus 8, to her current stint on Dancing with the Stars, the mother-dancer-divorcée is now poised to star in her own new series, Twist of Kate, as well as several Kate Plus 8 specials, a rep for TLC confirms to PEOPLE.
As the title points out, the Kate Plus 8 specials will focus on her life as a single mother and costar the young Gosselin brood, despite the series of well-publicized clashes between Kate and her ex, Jon, over custody of the children.
In 12 episodes due to begin airing this summer, Twist of Kate will charter new territory, with Gosselin responding to fan letters from those inspired by her story as a means to profile women in their own challenging situations, reports USA Today.
"I look at it as a loose concept," Gosselin tells the paper, which notes that the reality TV star – who's also been a guest host on The View – never considered dating or talk shows. "I want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can, though I don't consider myself an expert on anything."
As for her own challenges on DWTS" (and elsewhere, for that matter): "The fact that people really support me and want the kids and I to do well ... is flattering," she says. "I never understood the importance of fans until we struggled and went through tough times."

She really makes me want to vomit. I find her an asbolutely disgusting excuse of a person.
If roles had been reserved and Jon treated her on J&K+8 the way she treated him, everyone would have been up in arms that he was verbally and emotionally abusive (this is MY opinion).

I've said it before and I will say it again - I didn't agree with how she acted either HOWEVER Jon needs to take some of the blame in this - They aired SEVERAL home videos from when they were dating - she had that same personality/attitude IF NOT WORSE than she did when she was an adult with kids. He knew what he was getting into - he married her for her. That is the way she is, not that it is right, but it's supposed to be for better or worse. They could have tried working on it - he could have went to her and said, now all of a sudden after 10 years of the same person same attitude, he has a problem with it and wants to seek counseling.
No, instead he went out with college girls to bars and was photographed all over town with everyone. Started wearing shirts that a 20 years old would wear, got an earring, looked and acted like a total DOUCHE and neglected his kids for an entire summer to trot off to St. Tropez and the freaking Hamptons with about a bakers dozen different girlfriends. Not to mention renting that ridiculous apt. in NYC totally detached from the kids and throwing money down the drain when you DO NOT work. And the shopping sprees to Gucci and J. Crew for thousands and thousands of dollars. He is a total LOSER. I never thought he would be that way - I liked him on the show. While I think they needed to work on the way they communicated - him standing up for himself, her not being so harsh -- hanging out with Michael Lohan is NOT HOW TO GO ABOUT THAT!
What a farking mess!

That is really harsh. As DaniRella said, Jon knew who Kate was. She is a type A personality all the way and that doesn't change.
I think she is trying to do what is best for kids - to give them the lifestyle they know. If she went back to being a nurse, she'd be working 12 hour shifts plus OT and wouldn't come nearly as close to the money she is making now. Whatever money she is making from DWTS is probably pulling what should would earn in YEARS as an RN.
If I were her, I'd be doing the same exact thing. I'd milk my 15 minutes for all its worth to give my kids the world.

But again, shoe on the other foot, if a husband was verbally and emotionally abusive (which again, is only my opinion of her behavior that was shown on TV), would you really say it's okay because the wife knew what he was like before hand??

I don't understand, the whole reason Jon & Kate plus 8 was cancelled was because Jon didn't want the kids on TV anymore, all of a sudden it's ok again?

Do you honestly think all this exposure is good for the kids? Sure, they may easy money off of this, but there are other, less exploitative ways to earn a living for your family. Kate has already stated that she has plenty of money saved for their education.
This makes me sick to my stomach. Weren't the ratings for Jon and Kate Plus 8 really tanking after they announced their divorce, anyway? I feel bad for the kids when they get older and realize how their parents exploited them. Maybe this was benign in the beginning when they first started, but now its truly toxic.
