Keeping it a secret
So yesterday I was at a family party and people were asking DH and I about when we want to have a baby. I'm so bad at having a "poker face", but DH totally plays it off. We really don't want people to know (for many reasons, hence my fake name). I know a lot of you ladies also feel this way- what do you say when people ask????

Well originally I told some people that we would be starting next summer ...... but........ we decided to push it up to this fall  So, this time around we decided to just tell our 2 closest friends (who are actually a couple engaged to be married) and I mentioned it to my mom.
Otherwise, when people ask we say that we want to be in a house first. We plan on moving to a house in the Spring, but not everyone knows that we want to be in a house that soon so they just assume we won't be TTC for a while  And, I just let them think that........

ugh this has been SO hard for me. i have totally lied to some people which i really didnt want to do but dh and i really want to keep it to ourselves.
when people ask when i usually i just say hopefully we will start trying by our 2 year anniversary which is in September.

I always give the same response whenever anyone asks, which they always do. and of course a lot of times it is the same people asking over and over!! I say "we aren't quite ready yet. maybe in the next year or so; we will see." and that's all i give them! only my best friend knows we are ttc.

Thanks girls!
I'm so excited about TTC that I would love to yell it out loud  but I can't do that! I've told two of my friends- I need someone to talk to about this besides my DH!

Before we actually started TTC we told some people we were going to start, but since actually starting we've told people we decided to hold off a bit longer because the questions just started flowing. Now we just tell them we'll have kids when we're ready.

We've been married for 5 years and since year one we've been asked by family, friends, aquaintances...and each time I say: "we'll see, maybe next year", or "when God blesses us". What I really want to say is "STOP friggin asking me"!!! its frustrating to deal with this TTC game, but to have to answer these questions everytime I see these people...

when we were first married (2007) i would try to be a little more open with my mom and his mom about when we thought we were going to ttc.
but then the questions became ridiculous so now we have pretty much led them to believe that we are considering not having children or if we will it won't be for a another 3-5 years (we have been married about 2.5 years).
that keeps them quiet for a little bit. its frustrating because we have been ttc for a few months now and i wish i could be honest but then i think i will get weekly calls regarding our BDing schedule so its better to keep it a secret.

No one knows DH and I are about to start TTC--not even close friends. I have even gone as far as to let people believe I'm still on the pill.
I just don't want questions and expectations. I feel bad lying but I'm sure they won't care once they here the good news (whenever that may be).

I am trying to keep it a secret, but people keep asking...we have been married for 3 years and people want to know what the hold up is...isn't that rude to ask??!! I have vowed never to ask another women if they are TTC for as long as I live! It makes me so nervous! haha I am being a crazy italian with the malocchio!

I originally told my closest family members (my mom & sister) that we'd be starting to try next year. we kinda jumped the gun a little bit and I haven't told anybody about that.
However, when I was hanging out with my family just a couple weeks ago, my mother made a comment about wanting a grandchild and me & Dh were like "Ok, he or she will be here in 9 months". That's basically all we ever tell anybody when they mention it. Just make it a big joke. They know we're kidding. (Cause I'm bad with the poker face too. lol)
