Anybody else found weird how he broke the news about leaving the show without Kelly there?!?

They say shes PISSED off. I cant blame her, apparently she didnt know he was leaving. Id take the rest of the week off if I was her. Was always hoping they had picked Josh Grobin. Maybe I will get my wish lol

I was at the show yesterday and they were completely normal during commercial breaks.
I know the news came out right after the show was over so I would believe she had no idea.
I couldn't wait to watch this morning to see if she was going to be on. Wasn't surprised when she wasn't.
I can't blame her for being pissed. She's been with the show for a long time and with Disney for over 20 years. She's top billing on the show I feel she should've been in the loop.
Not sure if I'd be more upset at Disney or Michael if I were her. Probably him since they appear to be such good friends.
I understand business is business but in this situation I think it was handled very poorly by Michael & Disney. And I think he knows that too and that's why he thanked her so much at the end of the show.
Wonder how thick the air will be when she comes back.

I totally agree. I heard he was offered an eight figure salary to work full-time in GMA. Even if it wasn't his fault about leaving the show, I'd still be pissed at him if I were Kelly, why don't you tell me in person and privately?? That was totally messed up. I also heard that supposedly she won't come back until Michael leaves the show permanently

I am no Kelly Ripa fan but I'd be royally pissed too. I read that the Disney/ABC bosses orchestrated the whole thing. I also read that Michael sat down with her and Gelman just as the news was being announced. I personally wouldn't jeopardize an 8 figure deal by telling my co-host ahead of time. But they could've at least given her a few days notice. At least give her the respect of telling her before everyone else.
He's supposed to start at GMA full time in the fall. I have a feeling it's going to be much sooner. #awkward
I agree with the other poster who said the show is over. It is seriously the worst show. I do like Michael on there, but I feel like he is a big fish in a little pond. Time to move on to bigger and better.

Fine. Normal. Laughing. Joking. I've been to the show before didn't notice anything different. No friction or distance.
For her not to show up today. Speaks volumes. She never takes off unless it's for vacation. They just talked about sick days last week. She said she's taken 1 sick day the whole time she's been there.
I still enjoy the show. Would really like it if Neil Patrick Harris was the new co-host. I think he's great.

I read she was totally pissed. I would be as well. It shows a lack of respect on the part of ABC and Michael. I think they were friendly off camera as well and he could have told her he was looking around on the down low. I guess that friendship is over. If I was her I'd take a nice vacation and pitch a talk show to other networks and quit. Let the show fail.

I don't watch the show often, but the handful of times I have, I've always gotten the vibe that they didn't care for each other, but put on a "show" for the sake of the show (and their jobs/$$$.) I was watching the show yesterday and I was wondering to myself when he was going to leave. (I swear, I watch this show maybe 3 times a year at most.  )
I never thought of her as having a b*tchy personality when she was with Regis, but for some odd reason, the number of times I've seen her with Michael, she always came off as a b*tch.

The few times I've seen this show in passing all they've ever talked about was their workouts. It's basically a televised broadcast of the facebook workout bragging with a couple of celebrity interviews mixed in. Why is it still on? I find it boring and unappealing.

I tape the show but hardly watch it since I Ioved Regis and since he left it has not been the same. I don't even think she thanked Regis when they celebrated her 15 years on the show. I'm not a fan of Michael but I did expect him to stick around longer. I don't think GMA talked today about him joining the show full time. I hope it's some one good that takes over, Wendy Williams suggested Jerry O'Connell.

I agree, I loved Regis.
They should bring back Regis and Kathy Lee or Regis and Joy (his wife). Those were the best duos in my opinion. I stopped watching once Kelly came on.

I agree. I always though she was rude to Regis and Regis commented once they they never see each other since he left the show. He sees Kathy Lee all he time. That tells you what the relationship was like. I thought she talked down to Regis all the time and I could not stomach that.
Karma is a you-know-what, now she is getting left high and dry with no "respect". Sorry, you reap what you sow.
Sorry for the rant....I am a mad Regis supporter and get a little heated

I like them together. I watched them a lot when I was on maternity leave. I'm sad to see him go. What is he going to do for GMA? When I read it was an 8 figure deal, it made me wonder what Robin, George, Lara and Ginger make. I would not think that those positions commanded an 8 figure salary but obviously I'm way off.
