Keratin Complex Hair Treatment By Coppola

Anyone ever have it done?

They don't do JHS here in NC, but I found a place that does this and wondered if anyone ever heard of it or had it done.

I'm getting this done in June here on LI. My stylist explained it to me and he thinks it would be better for my hair because he keratin is not harsh like the chemicals used in JHS. It lasts about 3 mos I think.

I just had it done on Monday. It is Wednesday night and I can't wash it until tomorrow morning. Right now all I keep thinking is its not worth it because my hair (which now resembles Axle Rose) is driving me crazy. However, I am pretty sure I will feel much different after the shower in the a.m.. I will let you know.

I don't like the fact that it fades out of your hair. So in time your hair will be completely back to the regular state...not just the new growth! My hair is unbearably curly and kinky...that would not work for me.

see I kind of like that, cause I have slight waves, so I hate the line when jhs grows out.

I decided to hold off unil I am done BFing.

That's what my hairdresser said.

I'm going for keratin in 2 weeks. Between the amount of color I get (every 3 weeks) & the JHS, I can see that it's weakening my hair.

I'll give my hair a break for the summer & decide in Sept if I want to opt for JHS again or if I'd spring for keratin.

It costs more & lasts less but it's worth a shot if my hair isn't going to be fried.

Re: Keratin Complex Hair Treatment By Coppola

Ok, so I washed my hair and heres my thoughts. It definitely doesn't feel or look damaged. However, if you are looking for pin straight hair without any work, its not for you. I have pretty curly hair that NEEDS moose to tame it and when I blow dry it, it takes about 25-30 minutes and if its humid, just gets frizzy. With this treatment, I can just brush it out of the shower and air dry and it is just a little wavy, no frizz. Blowdrying takes about half the effort and half the time. So all in all, I am so glad I did it and would consider doing it once a year in the summer if I have the money, but its not AS maintenance free as I thought. It looks healthy and shiny though.Chat Icon

Re: Keratin Complex Hair Treatment By Coppola

thanks for the review. I don't have curl, just minor wave, but frizz, so I am looking to reduce that frizz and blow drying.

I have to wait until I am done BFing. My friend who is a hairdresser called Coppola for me and he does not recommend for pregnant or BFing.

Re: Keratin Complex Hair Treatment By Coppola

Is this the same as the Brazilian hair treatment ?? If so, I recently had it done about 3 mnths ago and it's out of my hair already. I always get the JHS but decided to try this bc it didn't have the harsh chemicals. My hair was soft, not damaged and looked healthy but I still had to blow dry and work on my hair to make it look good. I really need something where I can wash and just blowdry a bit if I want like the JHS. Plus, I needed to use a special shampoo as well.

I got this done back in December. The three days of not washing my hair made me so cranky. I felt the same way about the maintenance. My hair felt great - silky/smooth, but as for it being pin straight, no. I still had to blow dry it straight, but I didn't need to flat iron for the smoothness, which is so much better for your hair. The keratin basically takes the frizz out of your hair, but not the shape.

i haven't done this -- but i agree -- for me this woudl be a plus. i haven't done the JHS bc the idea of a line as it grows out really disturbs me. i am seriously considering this! if it cuts down my frizz, reduces blow drying time, keeps it healthy, and makes it shiny... sounds like a winner to me!

Re: Keratin Complex Hair Treatment By Coppola

My hairdresser was just recommending this to me on Friday. She basically told me it is to tame the frizz and would allow me to still style my hair curly/wavey or I can blow it dry without the frizz.

So I am curious - how much does it cost?

She told me with curly hair like mine, I would probably need it every 3-4 months.

Re: Keratin Complex Hair Treatment By Coppola

i just paid $330 for the brazilian straightening

My hair is definately more manageable and less frizzy--but NOT pin straight---

I was scared of JHS b/c of the chemicals but after I am done having kids I will get the JHS
