how about i just saw a few minutes (episode 1?) and feel badly for this girl! mama jonas comes in and reminds her basically that of course they'll have children; they didn't get married to just "live in a mansion together." i have a baby, but this is not the "reason" to get married--so you can procreate! what's wrong with not having kids and just being in love and committed? i felt badly about the way children and whatnot were being talked about at the table like part of the business! so awkward. pushy mil for sure....i haven't seen an parts with her family yet, but she did get my sympathy a bit!

I totally agree... They got married young - they want to take their time having kids and doing it when THEY want, not the rest of the family. Maybe this hits a little too close to home - DH and I got married when we were 21 and 23 just a few years ago - and we don't have any children yet and feel A LOT of pressure from family. I felt bad for her.

we waited some time before having our daughter; we just weren't ready in those earlier years--we moved, changed careers, went back to school, enjoyed our time just us... etc. it's easy for others to say when you should have kids, but at the end of the day, you and DH are the ones handling everything, NOT other people who insist you have children. and when you have babies for the wrong reasons, i'd imagine you can't be the parent you really want to be or need to be. you do it IF and WHEN you are ready. :)
