KIA OWNERS PLEASE POST HERE

I am looking to possibly trade in my 2001 Chevy Prizm and getting a used Kia. I was thinking of getting either the KIA or a hyundai.

If you have either of the two brand named cars..Please let me know how you feel about them, and if you would recommend them to someone.
thanks,
Scott

Re: KIA OWNERS PLEASE POST HERE

We just sold my husband's 2000 Kia Sephia and bought a Hyundai Santa Fe, so I guess I can help you on both counts.

With the Kia you get what you pay for. The car ran okay for the first 4 years. Last year, it started to have trouble with the starter. It's not a bad car, but defintely not the best.

My in-laws bought a Kia Optima, had it for 2 years and had a ton of problems with it and traded it in for a Camry.

We have had the Santa Fe for 3 months and we love it. It is really comfortable and has all the amenties that Hyundai includes standard, like power locks, windows, a/c, CD player, cruise control.

I say go for the Hyundai.

I have a Sportage.. I love my Car!!! I have NEVER had a problem with it(knock wood)
I know people who have had bad experiences, but my Dad works For Chrysler/Dodge/Kia so it kinda works out. I know they have the new Sportages out and they are gorgeous. I wanna trade mine in!!! Anyway if you have any questions let me know. I could always ask my Dad about a specific model if you have a question. Good Luck!

My inlaws have had a hyundai sedan (the big one - not sure of the name) for 2 years which they love. They also had a Chevy Malibu at the same time. They hated the Malibu and when the lease was up last month they turned it in and got a Hyundai Santa Fe.

Good luck!

Re: KIA OWNERS PLEASE POST HERE

A coworker of mine has a 2000 or 2001 Hyundai Elantra and it rides really nice. She hasn't had any problem s with it.

My boss drives a Kia Sephia (sp?) and is constantly complaining about the problems. The last thing was the windshield wipers failed completely during the big rainstorm.

Thanks everyone. I am going to try to look for 2004 and up Kia's, or hyundais. Hyundai Owns Kia now, since 2004. Now all Kia's cars are made by Hyundai and are made a lot better too. I love the Sonata. We rented one in florida a few years ago - great car.

Re: KIA OWNERS PLEASE POST HERE

I have a 2000 Hyundai Sonata and I HATE it!! The car has had all kinds of strange problems, the weirdest being a couple of years ago I rolled down the window (power) and it wouldn't go back up! Nothing like driving around with a garbage bag taped over your window! It happened to THREE of the windows that year. Very strange. I don't know if it makes any difference but the car was a stolen recovery. A woman I worked with had a 2002 and had major prolems with hers.

Thank goodness it's a third car and I hardly drive it...though it's been ok the last few months...

Good luck!

Re: KIA OWNERS PLEASE POST HERE

Scott, my DH bought the Hyundai Sonata last year .. he is a car geek (very into cars and such) and at first wasn't sure about it, but he absolutely loves the car..

I love it as well. IT handles really nicely and its a smooth ride, and not ONE bit of problems thus far.. And he puts a LOT of miles on it, driving round trip every day from Westchester to Long Island

We actually just bought a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe and are going to pick up tonight.. MY BIL has one and loves it, so we felt confident getting it (not to mention we got $1,000 off the sticker price since we are already Hyundai owners Chat Icon)

Hyundai is running really good deals right now, you might want to check into it!

Re: KIA OWNERS PLEASE POST HERE

I have a 2003 Kia Sedona. This last year has been nothing but headaches....it's been in the shop more than I can count. Rides nice, very comfortable, but it's a crap shoot whether or not it's going to start.
