Bayview Clam Shack at the East Islip Marina. If you go to eat you don't have to pay to park. You order at the counter and a waitress brings out your food.

OK, this is by no means gourmet dining, but DH and I will often walk down to Tanner Park with the baby, order food from their little restaurant (mostly burger-type food but they do have salads) and order drinks from their bar.

We also love Mama's in Copiague but there's often a wait.

Also realized after I wrote that, Mama's is not by the water. But I think it's an okay place to bring kids. We went there last weekend with 3 babies 6 months and under and were fine. Older kids were all around too.
