Kiddie Kandids Disk?
I normally buy the disk and print extra prints at Costco, and have been doing this for over a year.
Today DH picked them up and they gave him a hard time about not owning the licenses to the disk, and that per KK, we would need to pay 160 for the licenses to the disk.
Has anyone ever had this issue? This time when I uploaded the files I did it directly from the KK disk, normally I uploaded from my computer after I copied the files. Would this make a difference, or did KK change thier format?

Everyone seems to really be cracking down on copyright voliations...if you brought in the disc with all the KK pics it's probably pretty obvious that they're professional so maybe that's why they had to say something.
I would have LOVED to do this but of course I was afraid of getting caught so I bought through KK.
Did they give you the prints?

I did it online so you just upload them, they never saw the disk.
I never even knew I was doing something wrong, I thought that was the point of buying the disk. I even mentioned in from the girl at KK, will the sepia overlay print too, when I do them at Costco and she said no, that doens't transfer to the disk. You would think at that point she would have said you can't print them at Costco.

yeah, she should have told you but I know with the CR laws that if you wanted ANY re-prints - holiday cards, etc you have to go back and order through them. That's why I didn't see the point of buying the disc.
I was so tempted to take the KK online pics and go through Shutterfly or whomever to order my Christmas cards, but I didn't want to worry about getting caught or fines, whatever.
DH works with CR laws so that would have really ****** him off anyway

What I don't get is why they charge you 75 bucks for the disk if you get no prints then. What are you paying for, so you can look at the pics online, you can do that with just the sitting number.

You are legally allowed to print your own copies at home but not have someone else print them for you!
