Kidney Stone?? TMI
Hey everyone. I have had bad back pain, followed by pain in my lower abdomen (left side), and now the pain has moved again more center and lower. I've been to the doctor and she said it was something GI related. I really don't think so. I was thinking it may be a kidney stone since it's moving through, what seems like, my UT. I don't drink a lot of water at all, so it would not surprise me one bit. My dad said that if it was a stone I would be in a lot more pain...like I would not be able to speak. He has had them, so I am not doubting him, but is it possible that a small stone can cause sharp intermittent pain that makes you double over, goes away, comes back, and MOVES? Anyone had kidney stones that is kinda like I described?

I think kidney stone pain is not intermittent. It hurts bad..
I think it may be gastro related.

from what I have heard, kidney stones give you unbearable pain. so much so that labor is a walk in the park by comparison

I had a kidney infection from a stone that was so bad I ended up in the hospital for a week... It's bad pain, you would not have it intermittently.

I have had kidney stones before. It is unbeleiveable pain that is constant and no matter which ay you move, it doesn't feel better 
For me, the pain was so unbearable that I knew something was wrong so I went to the ER where they found out that I had kidney stones.

Trust me- you would know if it were a kidney stone- the pain is to the point of almost making you pass out.
You can't do anything- sitting, standing, laying down- nothing helps.
If it continues I'd ask for a CT Scan or something to find out the problem...

My mom had a kidney stone in January and it was horrible. She passed out from the pain and said she'd rather be in labor 100x than to deal with a stone. So the pain is truly unbearable.

I have had a kidney stone and it is absolutely unbearable pain...i had a big one and was in the hospital for five days, but everyone is different in the way things affect them so if the pain does continue I would definitely get a second opinion on whats going on with you....hope you feel better
